Lots of people recommend affinity but they’ve been bought by canva and are absolutely going to go down this same route. And while there are plenty of alternatives for photoshop, illustrator and indesign are still unmatched imo 🫠

I saw someone call Ai a Thneed and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a PERFECT analogy. The Thneed was an all-purpose tool that didn't do anything really useful. It was a fad that did major damage to the environment to make the Onceler a billionare. It left no real lasting impact, only damage.

There was so much generative AI art/design in the PRGE exhibitors hall this year…😒
Every single convention organizer, publisher, art director, project manager, etc. who's even once entertained the thought of using genAI imagery or LLM generated text at any stage should be paying *full* attention to how popular DragonCon is becoming for enforcing their "no genAI" policies.
I love the smell of consequences in the morning. Thank you, @dragoncon.org
