A reminder: The Attorney General of the United States should be the people's lawyer, not the president's personal attorney. The Department of Justice should act to protect the public, not just the occupant of the Oval Office and his political allies.

If Congress follows Trump's directive to rename the Defense Department, it could cost taxpayers nearly $2B in new signage, letterheads, and digital code.

Imagine if we invested that money — and our bloated military budget as well — on the American people instead of the Pentagon.

The House had three months off with pay and complete health care...while Trump's ballroom is being built and people are going without food. 😵‍💫

Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".

But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.

So Donald Trump’s big donors and giant corporations get massive tax breaks, but Americans waiting for SNAP payments are told to eat dirt? Did I get that right?

Turns out it’s not very popular to shut down the government when you control everything, double people’s healthcare costs, raise grocery bills with price-hiking tariffs, protect pedophiles, bulldoze the White House & starve out 40+ million Americans including hungry kids.

Trump still has not followed a court order to release SNAP funds for millions of people.

Meanwhile, he hosted a "Great Gatsby" themed party at Mar-a-Lago this weekend.

And he posted seven times about renovating a White House bathroom with marble and gold.

Priorities.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 91st day out of the last 103.

12 days of work in 103 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

When Trump said he would bring on a "New Golden Age," he was talking about his wallet.

Foreign nationals here legally getting thrown in prison without due process.

Illegally firing govt agency commissioners.

An unelected billionaire defunding vital services.

The Republicans who cried about "the left" violating checks and balances are now awfully quiet, huh?

This poem by Mosab Abu Toha, a Palestinian poet, is heartbreaking.

Arresting someone without charge, explanation, or due process to silence dissent is unconstitutional. This type of thing happens in dictatorships, not America.

You don’t have to agree with Mahmoud Khalil to defend his rights—if his freedoms can be taken by the Trump administration, so can yours.

Gutless Republicans need to stand up. Outrageous behavior with Zelensky -- tag team bullying by Trump and Vance. Disgraceful.
