A little ramble on youth sport and it's delivery. When I talk about obliquity, I mean to get away from the rigid linearity that we continue to embrace. We generally think "we need to build future prospects!" (IE "professionals"). The words steer our beliefs and delivery.

The degree to which the American right has shed a sense of shame and openly embraces the most ugly moral stances possible is shocking. Fixing that will mean cultivating a hard cultural turn against such beliefs and using renewed shaming and social exclusion to punish those who hold and express them.

An epidemic of poor behaviour at grassroots football here locally. No surprise to me. Until there is strict oversight of delivery at games, nothing will ever change. We are great at taking registrations. Not so great at making sure every single reg is getting a positive learning game experience.
