"I think I understand
Why Bebo peeled gently now
I wish I understood
What love was, then"

Beautiful❤️
Another #Nostalgia poem, perfect in its simplicity. And I love hearing author Anastasia Bortsvadze say “Tbilisi” - apparently my best efforts fall far short.

As a fellow '90s teen, this piece gave such lovely and sad chills. @pleomorphic2.bsky.social captured how this album felt so perfectly.
@nffr.bsky.social had a call on the theme “Ten”. I was a teen in the 90s. Only one thing came to mind. Thanks for reading 🙏🏾 newflashfiction.com/i-know-somed...

I'm writing poems and doing submissions again after a long, dry creative spell (mostly the meds' doing). It makes me incredibly happy, excited, and reinvigorated.

One of the worst things social media has done to humans is make us excessively reactive. Without pausing, without taking time to rethink words (ours or another's), without considering going into a "green zone" first before acting, often we jump into assumptions and harsh judgments. 1/2

A reminder that Pablo Neruda is a rapist. He confessed to it in his memoir, released posthumously in 1974. A Tamil cleaning lady when he was a diplomat. See the power dynamics & how he abused them?

Even people in Chile are outraged that the government canceled the plan to name an airport after him.

During an exam today, my 12-year-old had to answer this question: "Why is it hard to be truthful in this society?"

She answered, "Because when you tell the truth, instead of getting supported, everyone judges you for it."

It's World Poetry Day, and I'm remembering how poetry saves me, the way my daughter does every day. This is one of the first poems I wrote after a decade-long pause from poetry. Never published, always turned down. Sharing bec today is about light: of words, of new life.

Happy World Poetry Day🪶❤️✨

Put the word out that we're back. Think of us. We open 4/20 for a short window for a print issue in the fall. We want poems, prose, art, comics & beyond. Free to submit, free to read online always, we now pay $150 + comp copies + eternal literary infamy. More prestigious than the Paris Review.
