Breaking news: election of a trans councillor in Norwich on the 1st of May of 2024 is a platitude. Norwich city council has two trans green councillors is just a soundbite.

If we believe nothing about us without us we have to work to get our hands on the wheels of power

Active transport is for everyone regardless of who you are. It angers us so much as green activists that promoting active travel should *only* earn you an award if you identify with your gender assigned at birth.

Trans women are women, and @cyclinguk.bsky.social needs to do better.
Like many others, I am disappointed and angry about the decision by @cyclinguk.bsky.social to change the eligibility criteria for Women in Cycling 2025 to exclude trans women.

It’s all the same system; anti-trans street harassers & “respectable” eliminationists, islamophobic & xenophobic “patriots” & the racist politicians who echo them in the halls of power. Those who try to divide us are not on the side of the 99% & the bile they spew produces this abuse as much as

I’m still overwhelmed at just how good the Zohran ad is. Using Sophie for background music is less important than him staring straight at the camera and explicitly saying “Marsha Johnson was murdered”, but it’s the kind of detail that reveals how much his team cared to get the little things right.

If "your party" has key figures spouting transphobia, then it is not a left-wing movement. Transphobia is a narrative emerging from the far-right anti-gender movement. Embracing its narratives emboldens them. There can be no embrace of a political movement which abandons trans people.

You know articles like this remind me of what my mum used to say to me when I got upset about when someone else won a game as a child “don’t be such a wet blanket”

A lesson I cannot thank her enough for, when you can’t be humble when you’re losing - why on earth do you deserve to win?
This last minute critique of our campaign is right about one thing: the choice is clear.

Timid incremental change or bold leadership that both builds a movement and wins on the ground.

Members: it’s your call.

The government are planning on building up to 40,000 homes on disused railway land in the next ten years (great).

However, it's not yet clear what KIND of homes they will be. We don't need more expensive executive apartments.

We need quality affordable and social homes.
