Having a job again means I'm happy to pay @sepinwall.bsky.social for his review of Stranger Things. (I kept paying @carolinesiede.bsky.social even while job hunting. I know who I agree with more often! :) )

I feel this
Last visit, I had to watch <relative one> fill tons of little pill cases with nutritional supplements. I can’t fully explain to you the pain of my absolute failure as a <relative> to intervene.

Today I learned what a metonym is
I — JFC is there not a single person in public service who understands how metonyms work

WORKING PEOPLE KNOW WHO MARIE ANTOINETTE IS OF COURSE HIS STUPID VERSAILLES KNOCKOFF MATTERS
What happened to Gretchen Whitmer? I care about the destruction of the country, I really do. A lot of Americans do. 7 million of them came out in the streets last weekend. Why do so many Dem pols insist on saying it doesn't matter?

Something we should all be shouting from the rooftops!
"normies do not care about this thing and so it is no use raising a stink" is imho just an excuse for not doing politics, which is the job of making normies care about something

This is very cool, but not quite correct. According to www.heraldtimesonline.com/story/news/l..., the Purdue student paper did not print the IU paper, but a joint paper that still showed solidarity, but wasn't exactly the same.

Take note of all these people turning out for protests in small towns in red states.

Remember them the next time you’re inclined to write an area off because “they voted for this.”

Made @smittenkitchen.bsky.social's strawberry brita cake for my wife's birthday. Replaced the whipped cream with Bravetart's food processor whipped cream with freeze-dried strawberries.

A tail as old as time...
so I’ve shown the preschooler many songs from CATS the stage musical, figuring that it has lots of fun dance and is likely to make as much sense to a three year-old as it will to anyone in any context

The bowl height adjustment screw on my 1996 KitchenAid mixer needs to be replaced. I've now received advice on how to fix it, what parts I'll need, and what to swap out during the process.

The world has a lot of wonderful, helpful people in it. Even on days like today.

This is the way
I have been saying this for something like 15 years and I am so tired, folks: the tactics. Of the right. Don't work. For the left. Because their politics are divisive and anti-community. Ours aren't.

They win when politics is toxic and vicious. We win by building solidarity.

Longing for the day when the white house reporter beat and the gender beat are not the same. Until that day comes, we have @titonka.bsky.social.
I could never have dreamed of something so on-the-nose as all the dude politicians just having a public pull-up contest.

National treasure @titonka.bsky.social's guy meter has broken
Chopping wood. Fishing. Dropping an f-bomb. Kettlebell swings for the love of God. Beard. “I’m very angry.”

My political ad guy-meter just broke.
My name is Graham Platner and I’m running for US Senate to defeat Susan Collins and topple the oligarchy that’s destroying our country.

I’m a veteran, oysterman, and working class Mainer who’s seen this state become unlivable for working people. And that makes me deeply angry.
