Enjoy a gallery of fun artistic renderings I applied to my existing pics using the A.I. in Photoshop's beta, which is more useful to me for editing than outsourcing thought. 📷 gordonhighland.com/2025/10/a-i-...

I'm testing the Google Gemini 2.5 "Nano Banana" artificial intelligence engine in Photoshop's latest beta release, with unreal results. Its focus on editing images over conjuring them is more useful p...

It's complex because they're asking to use something that isn't theirs, on an international scale, in many possible iterations. Tech has compounded this, but so have the assumptions of consumers for whom music no longer has monetary value.
Copyright problems have been a recurring issue during the opening week of the figure skating program at the Milan Cortina Olympics, forcing some athletes to scramble for approval and others to ditch their planned programs entirely.
Why are copyright problems plaguing figure skating at the Milan Cortina Olympics?

I feel lingering guilt over having photoshopped a Winger t-shirt onto an old friend post-mortem. Too soon. Buuuuut still accurate in spirit.

It was a couple of weeks ago.

I've only fan-remastered two albums for personal enjoyment: 5150 and OU812, desperate to extract some bass.

Looks like this is enhanced video rather than 16mm film, but still, Live Without a Net was my guitar instruction video in the formative years, so any preservation is welcome.

"But I didn't do that thing he said in the joke!"

That's part of what makes it a joke, not journalism.

In other news, a man from Nantucket was revealed to be of average endowment but superior flexibility.

In my youth I assumed fettuccine was pronounced like the Bon Jovi song "Bad Fettuccine," which still earworms whenever I see the word.

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test

Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)

Good tech.

Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)

Bad tech.

"douche" has become my default mouth sound effect, whether drawn out as a thud or doubled up like rayguns or tom-tom fills.

Pretty sweet being able to wear this closet full of Hoosiers gear more than one season of the year. Been the default family gift since I was a teenager.

I rarely title songs after people because Ben Folds already wrote them all. Finding yours is like browsing racks at a souvenirs shop.

Compounding real problems in the first world, I dreamed I was about to get the (snakeskin) boot from the band Poison in 1986 for telling the singer his lazy melodies were gonna make our sheet music look like morse code.

Woke by a joke.

Dreamed I was back in church, but when we got to the handshakes, greeted each other with "The power of Christ compels you."

🤷‍♂️

Good exorcise, though.

"And also with you."

Overheard someone bragging about a billionaire fellow parishioner, and wanted to remind him there are no billionaires in heaven.

I first thought he said "prisoner," which made way more sense, but thought Why would they name a prison St. Michael's?
