Sounds like the button was never pushed, article prepped, file uploaded, then someone tries a url guess. "Even though the document was not listed on the OBR website, journalists . . . were able to access it by guessing its URL, which was very similar to one used in a previous official document."

Headline on The World at One just now:

"Sir Keir Starmer has denied putting the Labour Party before the country by ending the two-child benefit cap".

Can we please go back to reporting the actual news, not someone's partisan take on it?

Our information space is dominated by a system that demands and rewards continous and immediate emotional gratification, so you can't even begin to have a discussion about complex issues. It's a bright cancer that spreads and multiplies with every interaction.
It's part of the electionification of everything, which is why we as a country are failing to have a proper conversation about our actual problems. It's bad for the left *and* the right.
It's such a bizarre framing. Labour MPs think taking 450k kids out of poverty is putting the country first! That's why they wanted it to happen! It's not because they personally benefit.

All this circus for what? Putin says it’s impossible from a legal standpoint to sign any agreement with Ukraine because it doesn’t have a legitimate government.

⚡️ Россия хочет договориться с Украиной, но сейчас это невозможно юридически, и главное, чтобы решения были признаны международно, заявил Владимир Путин.

Territory they hold? You mean Ukraine?
Putin: “When Ukrainians troops withdraw from the territories they hold, then we will cease hostilities; If they don’t leave, we will achieve this by military means “

"a single person of this demographic may have committed a crime, therefore we must punish the entire demographic" is a policy response you may recognize from fascist governments dedicated to ethnic cleansing elsewhere.
It didn’t even take 6 hours.

It's easy to be numb because it's par for the course nowadays, but repeatedly calling a reporter who asks a reasonable question "stupid" is conduct unbecoming for a small-town mayor, let alone the President of the United States.

The press exists to play a watchdog role, not be a supplicant.

I'm on shared parental leave for three months after this weekend 🎉 (Once I've covered Your Party conference)

Very excited & lucky to have the opportunity.

Shared parental leave is a right in the UK for employees but not many people use it, in large part because it's unpaid. If you have Qs, do ask.
