Sunlight Basin, Wyoming. Late August, 1992. The rare times the wind blew in the mountain-shielded sanctuary of the basin, it did not merely blow; it scrutinized, peeling back the layers of the high country until only the granite and scrub-brush remained. The willows whistled their reedy tune as the gale teased the red sprigs before hammering its heavy fist against the door to a rough-hewn cabin with the begrudging ferocity of a specter wronged one too many times in life. The sentry pines surrounding the quaint abode at the base of the Absaroka Range groaned and creaked in protest against the onslaught of weather; their ancient, weary bones stronger than the constitution of most modern men. Vernon was one such fellow of the granite peaks and woody pines, whose constitution could ne'er be swayed by the very land he was carved from. A broad-backed and heavy-in-the-hips sort of specimen who moved with the deliberate, heavy grace of a grizzly. Yet, that morning, this particular gale battered at the eroding edges of years lived in solitude until it found a crack in the weathered stone of the man, and slipped in. Before the sun brought the snowy mountaintops to their usual fiery glow, the few occupants of the cabin were roused from the cobalt cold of dawn by a sound more harrowing than the wind rattling the panes. Swaddled in the warm embrace of heavy bison furs cured by Vern’s own scarred hands, Jayson slept on his cot in the smaller, North room of the cabin’s loft. His mind lingered in that space just before wakefulness, where dreams are most vivid… …and nightmares most harrowing. The young man’s unconscious mind lay occupied by the tender imaginings of warm hands twice the size of his own and a worn flannel infused with the decade-old scent of pine bark warmed by a summer sun. The lustful pleasantries of the sleeping mind had been split by an axe-sharp disquietude that prompted the youth to shoot up from his warm cocoon like a Pika firing from its burrow to scout for danger. In bated breath, Jayson listened. The muffled sound of feet thudding against the hardwood floor was woefully tender compared to the usual heavy confidence of a day’s waiting labor. The timing of that familiar, rhythmic gait came off-kilter and delayed when it lumbered past the door to Jayson’s room. The youth’s bare chest hitched with a shallow breath when a strained groan lighted on his keen ears as Vern descended the stairs to the main floor of the cabin. What should have come to pass in the life of steady routine, did not. There was no rumbled greeting to the hounds, nor did the gas stove tick with the coming of a morning brew. The quiet minute Jayson expected Vern to be kneeling by the hearth, coaxing the embers to life, was instead displaced by the very commotion which brought Jayson to wake fitfully in the first place. It was a bellowing cough of such magnitude the sound put him in a mind of his boyhood in Georgia, where the humidity was a physical weight, and the a I r so thick a soul might drown in it. It carried the force of those summer storms where the thunder rolls with such authority it was beholden to send a six-year-old Jayson crying for his mama in the deep hours of the night.

Jingles goes on an awkward camping trip with his father as a bonding experience when he's like 13 or smth, but his father isn't revealed until way later, so just imagine an intensely terrifying cishet manly-man trying to connect with his gay little son and hilarity ensuing.

ʚ Rapidash ɞ
A gijinka of the pokemon Rapidash. Rapidash is a tall glass of water, or should you say flame, holding a curvy body is both wide in hips and bust. This woman wears casual clothes that look like a mix of street and lounge wear, just something that feels and looks comfortable for her, with wide pants that flare out at the bottom as fire dance by her feet, marked by a fire pattern and small details on her upper thighs. Her shirt in the meanwhile comes flared and form fitting, sitting neat and snug on her beyond the draped flares that goes down her arms and outwards into a zigzag like pattern. Most welcoming in this design, at least to the creator, is how the feminine sweetheart's hair morphs into a mane of pure flames, yet they do not appear or seem to hurt or injure her at all. This babe is all early 2000s looks / y2k, and she rocks it with her additional piercings, tattoos, waist beads and glasses. This character was designed with the year of the horse in mind, happy new year~

Kyte is extremely emotional. She cries easily and lashes out in anger. She's done a lot of work to make sure she doesn't hurt anyone, but it doesn't change how she feels in the moment. She tries to repress her feelings to get things done, but they always spill over later.
