It also should be obvious that people who hate unions and are destroying the NLRB are not going to bring back an appealing kind of manufacturing job, so reinvigorating that sector rather than just HAVING that sector can't be one of their goals
Yes. I have tried to argue over and over that Trump/Vance's large scale destruction of clean energy manufacturing jobs (the manufacturing jobs of the future!) should be relevant to discussions of their stated goal of reinvigorating US manufacturing. No one listens

I hope everyone who is upset about "cancel culture" will find it similarly alarming that companies are too terrified of government retaliation to say anything critical about a policy that's seriously harming them. Seems maybe also bad?

Do you support the tariffs announced by President Trump on April 2?

These are tariffs that have already destroyed trillions of shareholder value

NOT ONE COMPANY WOULD ANSWER THE QUESTION

True story: a few years ago, I was being interviewed by a reporter for the New York Times. I mentioned the history of eviction statutes and how they tied into Jim Crow.

The reporter asked "what's Jim Crow?"

When I explained, the reporter didn't believe me and said the US wouldn't do that.
