wow... everything's computer...
Americans are remarkably sick people, even the ones that pretend to be opposed to fascism are entertaining the idea of invading a country that was submerged in a wave of violence due to US action in the first place. You should fuck off forever.
Dems need to make it very clear that Bukele will end up like Noriega once they are back in power
Trump now saying — contrary to his previous statements and those of federal officials — that people removed from the U.S. to El Salvador are in the “sole custody” of El Salvador

did this imbecile realize that this tautological logic works backwards as well?
90% of the libs vs. leftists discourse on here would be solved if libs realized that the entire theory of politics of the online left is downstream of their belief that their ideas are so popular, Dems would automatically win if they ran on them. Stuff like this only make sense once you realize that

it drives me a bit insane how the movie idiocracy is at both ends of the american political spectrum at the same time. its concern with american cultural output becoming steadily more tacky, and anti-intellectual matches american liberal affects, and its blatant concern with eugenics is right wing

I think it’s important to remember fascism does not only win because of how people vote in a single election. Or even two. That is not the first and only cause. And if your institutions were resistant to fascism it would not succeed in consolidating power within a few months.

"analog horror" is a made-up term to elevate what are essentially creepypastas, right?

liberals are going to be so surprised when gavin newsom wins the 2028 elections and raises tariffs on China to 297% in his first day lol
If people had just voted for Gore, Obama, Hillary, and Harris, we’d be light years ahead of where we are.

will stancil lets loose a bunch of state department mcartynism and when he starts losing followers, he switches gears into slamming trump, so if anything he's pretty good at managing his follower base. too bad you can't turn a social networking career into a political career.

I'm fairly confident Bernie Sanders would have breathed new life into liberalism, we would have kicked the crisis can another 60 or so years until climate crisis was untenable, he was the actual damage reduction candidate

anyway if you want to know about early 4chan history you can ask me I guess, I read 0037's and shii's blikis and they're still archived. I used to be fixated by it, in the same way shii or moot were fixated by world2ch. It's remarkably simple, as stories involving 15 year olds often go.

I cannot believe we have to suffer through all the nonsense of Trump for a SECOND TIME just because America still isn't ready to vote for a smart, qualified WOMAN who loves GENOCIDE!

You call it "media fragmentation" despite the fact that social media has been concentrated into a handful of platforms

this isn't even idealism on any conception, it's complete tautological nonsense. ideas emerge from nowhere, and reproduce themselves by mechanical means, like bacteria. individual people lose all autonomy, they're just hapless recipients for ideas. the memes, jack! the DNA of the soul!!
This is correct. Every conservative I know believes the government is bad not because of a series of personal experiences, but rather because enough people around them repeated some variation of "government = waste and fraud" for most of their lives.
no, I think people get their beliefs mostly by listening to their peers and communities and other social acquaintances and using those social contacts to build a mental image of what is known to be "true" and "correct" and then adopting those ideas

Even if we give credence to this idea that the media and social networks are the drivers of fascism, it begs us to ask whose running these propaganda outlets, perhaps some of these owners were also sitting at the inauguration. We may find out the capitalist class lent their material support to Trump
The entire reason we know that Trump is a product of cell phones and ideological belief instead of "material conditions" is that we took "looking at material conditions" seriously and quickly discovered they were both positive and mostly unremarkable, except for the extent they were positive

The US regression to brutal nationalism is probably one of the most predictable outcomes and Marxist academics have been calling it since the 90s lol
Political trends in the US are not lashed to the macroeconomy in any kind of coherent or predictable way and a lot of people are very desperate to talk their way around that fact because they want to convince you that Donald Trump is just a manifestation of capitalism, the thing they hate most
