My breakfast wasn’t as glamorous as some of you today, but today I had some lightly toasted bread, sunflower seeds and two lightly boiled eggs. 🥚 🥚

I’m definitely going to try and go for a run today. I need it.

Wow, I did Lord of the Flies for my O level English. (Yes, that’s how long ago it was), and I knew it like the back of my hand.

It’s on BBC next week.

Proxemics. That’s a new word I’ve learnt. How much space a person needs to set themselves from others.

Drinking tea and eating biscuits while catching up with last week’s Francis Bourgeois Mission to Space on Channel 4. It’s really good.

I don’t think I’ll watch Melania in the cinema. I’ll wait until it comes onto Prime Video and not watch it then.

At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to read Edgar Allan Poe in front of a crackling fire in a mysterious Victorian mansion on a cold winter's night during a full moon with the sound of wolves in the distance whilst enjoying a plate of freshly-baked croissants?

Ironic, because this is me to a T.

And yes, I’m in bed. 😂

Is it so bad if I go to bed early?
I’ve done an hour’s reading, and I’ve caught up with episode 2 of The Salt Marsh. I just feel a need to bury myself under blankets. I could listen to the radio or a podcast for a bit.

I want my bed already 😏

I’m eating a small chocolate orange egg.

The heavens have opened. It’s pouring down out there, I got back in the nick of time.

Back from the shop and an early dinner/late lunch is looming on the horizon. Possibly some battered fish with some mushrooms, nuts and small left over roasties.

I’ve treated myself to a chocolate orange egg to cheer myself up, but the walk to the shop and back was worth the effort. 🪺

Now I’ve got a bad stomach, and it’s raining!! 😩😩
January 31, 2026 at 2:34 PM
I’ve managed to shower, brush my teeth and get dressed, which feels like a monumental achievement.

I’m feeling exhausted and burnt out and if you’re on the spectrum you’ll understand what this feels like.

However. I deeply suspect there’ll be neurotypicals who share similar experiences.

#Uncanny listener Sarah sent me these, of a book from 1907. People would sign their names with ink down the middle of the page and then fold the page over. The inkblot left reveals your own personal ‘ghost’ creature!

Why not have a go at this to see your own ‘ghost creature’, #UncannyCommunity?
