I mostly read hard sci-fi, but the Dungeon Crawler Carl series kinda fits that. It's been a fun read and now there's this graphic novel spinoff getting crowdfunded.

If you're familiar with the John Dies At The End books, it's fun in a similar batshit crazy way.

"AI" is absolutely and ONLY a marketing term, and at this point if it's being used, the intent behind it is to overpromise to the consumer/end user on the program's actual capabilities. And, of course, none of the "AI" is actually intelligent in any meaningful way.
It would be neat if it wasn’t marketed as AI. Predictive statistical modeling doesn’t really slide off the tongue I guess

Democrats: What do we need to do to win back disillusioned voters?

Voters: Stand up to Trump and fight him like our lives depend on it.

Democrats: Alienate our base while we chase bros who will never vote for us. Got it.

Voters: That's not-

Democrats: Can you give us five dollars right now?

Yep. Absolutely no way this will be used for nefarious purposes. /s

It's absolutely amazing how far "AI" video generation has come in just two years.

I still hate that this stuff is called "AI"...

Friend of a friend wrote this.

I typically stick to hard sci-fi (space, aliens, robots) and this wasn't that but I ended up really liking it and am eagerly awaiting a sequel and hopefully a prequel.

Yuuuuup. Being an asshole limits your options. Or to put it another way, in any major project there's room for maybe one asshole. That's probably not going to be you, and you shouldn't fight anyone for that role.
One lesson I've learned the hard way, not being a pain in the ass to work with goes farther than almost anything else in life.

"What trillion-dollar problem is AI trying to solve?"

Wages. They're trying to use it to solve having to pay wages.

Yes, tariffs are a tax, but people don't mention often enough that they are a regressive tax. Taxes on consumer goods tax the poor at a higher rate, as basic necessities are a much larger part of their spending.

If food goes up by 20%, it is a tax on the poor. Rich people won't even notice.

And now I need a poutine burrito... 🌯
My model shows a 48% chance that new Liberal leader Mark Carney can prevail in Canada's upcoming elections. And I rank the best poutine burritos in Ottawa. All that and more in the next Silver Bulletin.
