🚨 🚀 A crude interface I built to expose an archive of College of DuPage GOES imagery since about 15 Apr 2017. The archive is around ~500TB in size over ~2.5 billion JPEG images. Yikes, but here you go.

Anyways happy for feedback. Not worth the effort?

I'm excited to announce the official Nullschool app is here!

earth.nullschool.net on mobile browsers works fine, but the app is nicer. Full screen display, persistence across sessions, text size that matches device settings. Even landscape works well.

And, like the website: no ads!

New Publication Alert: A fun paper that came together almost on the fly when I first started working on numerical modeling of aerosol-convection interactions (ACI) is now out in AGU Geophysical Research Letters.

Check out the full paper here: agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....
The Importance of an Ensemble Approach for Modeling Aerosol‐Convection Interactions
Random initial temperature perturbations can rival aerosol effects on updrafts, risking misattribution in deterministic simulations For TRACER-like environments, at least 10 ensemble members are ...

Closing out my year with a journal editor shocker 🧵

Checking new manuscripts today I reviewed a paper attributing 2 papers to me I did not write. A daft thing for an author to do of course. But intrigued I web searched up one of the titles and that's when it got real weird...

Has anyone else noticed an increase in new publications in generalist journals (e.g., Sci Rep, Nature Comms) with declarative titles that state already well-known realities in your specialty discipline?

Finally pushed a full 1.0.0 (not release candidate) to PyPI and conda-forge.

This also means that:
mamba install sharplib
conda install sharplib

Work now (assuming you have conda-forge set as your primary channel).

There is also now a Dask/Xarray/kerchunk example notebook for HRRR data!
