On a day of sadness in the UK, it's lovely to see something joyous - a garba dance at Mumbai Airport in celebration of Navratri.

I'm not sure if there was any planning in this, but I just love how the dance brings everyone together.

@gordoncorera.bsky.social Thanks for the new episode of TRIC, on 7/7. Brings a lot back.

Bit of info for Mr McCloskey though: the UK does have a constitution, it's just not codified. See here for a brief explainer: consoc.org.uk/the-constitu....

@aakinwo.bsky.social does a great job on his podcast for @theathletic.bsky.social, but it was a shame in the latest episode that there was no questioning or pushback on the Aston Villa narrative about Thomas Bramall's decision to disallow Villa's goal in their game at Man U.

It certainly wasn't ...

DOJ says the U.S. government would have to “entreat” or “cajole” El Salvador to return him.

I’m pretty sure one phone call demanding his return — or else hell to pay — would do the trick.
Despite admitting to having illegally sent a guy to El Salvador by mistake, and even though the U.S. is paying El Salvador to indefinitely imprison him, the DOJ is arguing that, well, nothing to do, it's not in our hands anymore. The general tone of their response is "welp, sucks to be him."

Those in Red are:

1 always used by Tories
2 able to get 20x more Newspaper coverage in Mail / Telegraph / Express
3 never called out for their lies by the BBC
And the least transparent about who pays for their opinions.

I did like “hobbywriter”.

Absolutely superb piece from @afalkhatib.bsky.social

I'm so grateful there are some voices on the Palestine-Israel debate who understand the importance of mutuality and compromise for a real resolution to the conflict.

Racist fantasies based on kicking the other side's population out go nowhere.
“Those in the diaspora should help put forward a new Palestinian narrative—one that makes Jewish Israelis our vital allies in solving this conflict and ensuring the prosperous and secure future of both of our peoples,” Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib writes: theatln.tc/fVkYB5N2
The Case for Palestinian Pragmatism
Rigid maximalist demands won’t deliver the future Palestinians desperately need.

Anyone who values the rule of law - whether in the US or any other country - should stand with Perkins Coie and against Trump's vicious and no doubt illegal attack on the firm.
