I’m excited for the next two weeks as our S2/3 ‘Character Ambassadors’ return to their primary schools to deliver an assembly to Primary 7 classes on our school value of empathy. I hope this will mark the beginning of many pupil engagement sessions on character with our Cluster schools.

Every single school should have a library & a librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER!

Most recently, we carried out an experiment. The pupils then plotted model data and received and acted on feedback. They then processed their own data.

Etymology of the day: to be ‘blowing a hoolie’ (or ‘hooley’) was probably inspired by the Orkney word ‘hoolan’, a howling gale, with a touch of the ‘hooley’ that is a very noisy party thrown in.

As an addendum to this, it took four months to get this information, which would have been publicly available at the time of conviction.

The Times had to appoint counsel and attend a hearing at Westminster Magistrates Court to secure its release. That is not an expense all publishers can afford.

Hey #ChemEd #ChemSky On the days when teaching lab experiments fail to produce any data - what do you do?

Give the students model data? Get them to complete only part of the write up? Get them back another day? Or design assessments that don't rely on it?

Any thoughts?

The approach depends on the learning outcome e.g.:
For processing data (e.g., converting a table to a graph): I provide model data for practice. Afterward, they process their own data and receive feedback.
For developing evaluation skills: I use actual data as a reference point to guide discussions.

Excellent news that the government is significantly boosting public investment! Instead of falling by a third it's now roughly stable (0.7pp of GDP higher on average). Less than we recommended, but of crucial importance for raising growth.

This feels like gaslighting by The Telegraph. The post seems designed to provoke responses from those with strong social justice values. The comments are (from what is shown) out of context, and the source—an energy CEO publicly challenging fossil fuel protectionism —feels deliberately targeted.
