You know that feeling when you have exciting ideas but can’t figure how to get from A to B, and the transition from A to B FEELS so crucial that your perceived inadequacy crushes the light, child-like momentum?

That happens less and less. Its almost as though the fear of failure IS the failure?

omg my child and the neighbor kid just destroyed 5+ year’s worth of hops and grape vine training
😭 I’m dying

It was JUST waking up for spring

We can’t forget
we all have
an expiration date.

How lucky we are to share time.

Woke up to the neighbor’s puppy bitting and tugging on my hair.

My kid keeps kidnapping these french bulldog mix puppies through the fence and yesterday it was raining. They left the puppy outside to shiver. So we gave him a bath and hosted him for the night. He snores. He is not staying.

Light is so strange. Quantity of gas molecules can change which photons meet our eyes over long distances. In art class we call this “atmospheric perspective” and the trick to accuracy is in avoiding the slowest wavelengths of light: reds. The farther away the mountain, the more soft purples.

Golden Hill K-8 school in San Diego California has a teacher named Ms. Anne who punished kids for asking ?s or using the bathroom.

Access to sanitation costs them behavior bucks.

These behavior bucks are used for toy bribes at the end of the week.

Kids have developed painful medical conditions

The GOOD NEWS is
that federal food safety inspections for packaged goods are still happening.

For now…

If anybody is feeling old and unhip, I just worked a couple events tonight that were FULL of 20ish year olds and let me tell you:

The turtle neck is BACK.
I saw the turtleneck + necklace combo at least 25 times on both fem and masc outfits.

Now THATS what I call

Happy #FungiFriday!
I have no idea what this is.
What do you think?
January 17, 2025 at 5:36 PM
This is actually on point.
The community we try so hard to foster will be essential in unincorporated areas.
I hate saying this because this is what it's come to but we need to build alternative networks and, if possible, shadow or parallel orgs so that we can help people who need it, e.g. private lending libraries
Not to be alarmist, but please be prepared for many gov services to vanish or be horribly downgraded in the months to come. While continuing to push national and local electeds to hold the line, think about non-gov groups that are supporting folks in your community and consider how to support them.

Getting the American oligarchy dismantled
is also an existential challenge.

Only way to vote is
with our consumer money

THIS is why billionaires keep shutting down connectivity tools. Its just like the myth of Babel.

Kings can only push propaganda on an ignorant population.

Divide and conquer
requires scapegoating
and knocking down
community-built
cooperation towers.
I am watching 30 years of propaganda melt away at first contact with actual Chinese folks.

Every comment section on RedNote are the Chinese users welcoming the Americans, "I'm so glad you're here! We can be friends now! We are not enemy!"

I tried all the blackout curtains and white noise but the kid STILL popped up early today, on the holiday when I get no childcare😭

I hope they like movies,
cause I gotta finish some work
February 19, 2024 at 3:53 PM
Am so tired.
We just got back
from camping.

I was able to bring my work with me and finish drawing about 1/2 a project I have due this week.

Hot tea and crunchy snow.

Snow ball fights happened.
People cried.

But nobody was hurt.
Except my shoulder.
I’m gonna sleep 12 hrs tonight.

I poured some agar into some petri dishes and swabbed my nose, my kid’s hands, partner’s hands, and cat’s gums.

I’ve got a lot more petri dishes!
What else should I test?

Also am about to do blot tests 🤩

They burnt our pizza and didn’t have enough pickles to make another pickle pie, so they made us 2 pies: one buffalo vegan chicken, & one dairy free chz pizza. Now I feel like a pizza baroness.

I asked if they burnt it “so good” like delicious and black on the crust? He said “No, like inedible” lol

Quick sketch for a portrait.

Just using it as a framework for the details now 😂

What species did I draw today?
December 22, 2023 at 4:24 AM
I just got a contract from an author for a book project, its always bittersweet when this happens, bc all my other art babies have to wait for my undivided attn.
I am excited about it tho! 😃
