It's #FlirtPackFriday queerly delicious humans, and I would like to tell you about my philosophy on flirting and communication... so lean in, while I attempt to 🧵
Today is the third anniversary of my younger sibling's untimely death, from covid.
They were 29.

I grieve, but in their honor I will also write.
Comment on this thread today with a flavor you love, and I'll tell you about a haunted missed connection.

Why does it seem like the next* generation* of internet inhabitants have to learn about JCO every internet cycle?

Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Last night, I wrote poems 82-84 (of 122 this year).
Every year's collection is an amalgam of people who are known to me, and who are not.
One of my favorite parts of writing love letters to strangers is the part where I get to capture a little bit of that getting to know them, in prose.

Isn't it wild that a newspaper that used to exist (the new york times) crumbled into dust because they set out to destroy the safety and wellbeing of most Americans and then put everything behind a paywall.

One of the more annoying things about Bose:
They are essentially the only company who uses 2.5mm to 3.5mm aux cables for their headphones. So finding a replacement, when you don't shop at Walmart or Amazon, is a fucking nightmare.
Thanks, Gideon (this is the cable he ate)

It's Friday fucking night.
Nothing that normally happens on a weekday will get solved by your anxious feelings between now and Monday.
So howl at the moon. Fly a midnight kite. Eat some ice cream, or cake. Pet a cat.
I love you. We're going to find a way through this.

I've lived here most of my life. I've known many of our city council members.
I even helped get some elected in previous elections (nobody who was running this cycle).

But this slate was more progressive than ever.

And CO municipal elections are "nonpartisan."
People are voting for principles.
AS AN EXAMPLE: Aurora, Colorado. Dominated by conservative politics for over a decade. All five city council seats last night? Won by Democrats.

And not like, the kind of milquetoast centrist Democrats we've been told are the only kind of people who can win.

I agree with this thread, but I also need to add one thing:

The idea that progressives can't win in conservative areas? We need to challenge that, and after this election, we can.
The thing is that I agree with the notion that we need a broad coalition! Candidates exactly like Mamdani aren’t necessarily going to clean up everywhere! The thing is that I suspect a lot of the centrists saying that not every candidate can be Mamdani actually want NO candidates to be Mamdani
The GOP and a lot of centrists tbh, I hope some big name Dem electeds and strategists are feeling VERY uneasy right now

87 votes is enough to cure in a margin of error.
87 votes is often close enough to trigger a recount.
This is incredible. Don't let the establishment tell you otherwise.
87 votes was the margin of victory in Marietta, GA.

My fucking state (CO) said we (continue to) fucking feed kids and we tax the really well-off to do it. And it's passing by a pretty staggering ratio.

I'm waiting for school board results.
But I'm hopeful that we knocked it out of the park.
November 5, 2025 at 3:18 PM
In a city where twelve votes have decided Ward I before, I feel pretty good about these margins.

Fire Mike Dino and let's fucking go!
yesterday versus today

Fuck yes, Aurora deserves so much better!

Raw vegetables aren't automatically or inherently "more healthy" than other foods, and everything you think you know about what is "healthy" food originates with diet companies (and, often, certain food lobbies).

But all modern starvation can be traced back to billionaire and corporate greed.
