"I thought we were the same age, you and I."

"We used to be."

Literally just 36-ish hours ago: I was trying to retrieve the end of a charging cable that had somehow become trapped under the foot of my bed. I grabbed the bedframe, pulled to shift it slightly... and ruptured my biceps tendon in my left elbow.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

😅

"Calibri font the latest DEI target as Rubio orders return to Times New Roman"

Could this, perhaps, be a headline from @theonion.com?

Nope: FUCKING ASSOCIATED PRESS

A great benefit of this effort has been to play Pokemon Legends: Arceus for the first time on Switch 2.

I know from my experience with Scarlet that had I played it on Switch 1, I'd've been aggravated by the performance issues.

Playing it now, with how it runs on Switch 2? It's GREAT.
One of the best things I've done for myself over the last several years is break myself of FOMO. I no longer care about playing then newest game, seeing a movie on release, reading a book immediately. It's extremely freeing, and allows me to look at my media in a whole different light.

I think this is going to be the first World Cup in a couple decades I just won't watch.

It's a little hilarious to see people talking about how ugly and awful and dystopian the whole thing is... only to then start talking about the draws and what games they're interested in.

Pokemon Sword/Shield are the best Pokemon games of the Switch generation so far. I feel confident in that opinion.

(With the caveat that I haven't played Legends Z-A yet.)

My foray back into Pokemon Scarlet has even gotten me to go back to Pokemon Shield.

Apparently I completed the main Pokedex, but never finished Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra.

Well, I'm 'bout to rectify that problem!

Booting up Pokemon Scarlet on Switch 2 has gotten me fully hooked back in.

Granted, it still doesn't LOOK good, but it RUNS *perfectly*. Solid 60fps, solid draw distance, faraway NPCs don't move at 4fps.

I never completed my Pokedex because of how horribly it ran. I'm back at it like a bad habit.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving weekend! I'm logging out until at least Monday.

Be good to each other.

But don't put up with any bullshit.

If continuing to use a product while it's still quite functional and not succumbing to the hype cycle of manufacturers telling you what you need every year is "costing [the] economy", then maybe economies were a mistake.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

Ugh, not Rothrock! Not surprised by any of the others. Frei and Joao Paulo are, frankly, nearing the ends of their careers, so those come as no shock. Honestly don't know much about bell.

But Rothrock has been a very important part of the team, so I hope they're still able to retain him.

You know what legitimate courts DON'T need to spell out explicitly in their statements?

"This matter will be handled in compliance with military law, ensuring due process and impartiality."

Why'd you need to say that, Petey?
I would love to see Kegseth try to spin how the retired Navy Captain, Astronaut, and hero is somehow a military criminal. That Courts Martial needs to be live-streamed just so I can see the expression on the jury's faces. (A jury made up of 8 other officers of similar experience and training.)

If someone is advocating for theft - especially from artists who are already looked down on by our shitty society - they should feel bad. Make them feel bad.

They're terrible people. Make sure they know it.

Oh NO! They blocked me! Whatever shall I do?
Imagine, for a moment, being *this wrong* with your FULL CHEST in public.

It's a sign, to me, of how bass-ackwards the liberal attitude toward art has become. "Everyone needs art. But seriously, fuck the artists who make it."

Using poverty as an excuse to steal from poor artists is reprehensible.

"We don't know who struck first, us or them. But we do know it was a bunch of unregulated techbro dipshits who scorched the sky."
A 25-person startup is developing technology to block the sun and turn down the planet’s thermostat.

The stakes are huge — and the company and its critics say regulations need to catch up.

For some reason, I've been thinking a lot about when a not-insignificant portion of the board gaming internet showed their WHOLE DAMNED ASS about the fakir cards in Five Tribes.
