Here are my predictions for the prices of the new Steam hardware, so I can refer back to them when pricing is announced (all in USD):

Steam Controller: $99.99
Steam Machine: $499.99 (512GB)/$699 (2TB)
Steam Frame: $899.99

The Steam Frame prediction is a bit wishful thinking, but I like the others.
Good night, Bluesky. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely quit you in the morning.

As a lover and collector of physical media, I'm 1000% more likely to buy a video game at or near launch if it has a real physical version (Game Key Cards don't count).

If a game is digital only, I have zero drive to buy it Day 1, because a) I know it'll be available later and b) it WILL go on sale.

Stephen Colbert's monologues are proof that no matter how good a writer you might be... endings are hard.

I really wish the vast majority of people would respond to billionaires' threatening to "leave" with "Okay, cool. Bye."

But, also: I really wish people would spend the time to think through whether they want to live in a society where a single person has that kind of power and influence.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

A dollar coin with "FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT" as the slogan? I mean, I appreciate they put "E Pluribus Unum" on there (in a smaller font) just for S&Gs, but holy shit this is giving wild "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité" vs. "Travail, Famille, Patrie" vibes.

I would like a vinyl set of Animal Crossing music, please.

Yes, I know this a very specific intersection of nerderies, and I don't care.

A career as illustrious as Cher's, and the radio still plays fucking "Believe". Yuck.

Sure. Cool. Great.

No better way to keep momentum and interest alive than to have a two-month break right in the middle of the fucking season.

Am I missing something? Because I really don't understand this change.

Now that BambuLab has released the P2S and AMS2, it looks like they're working on off-loading the remaining P1S and AMS stock.

A P1S with and AMS for $550 is a BONKERS deal. If you've ever been interested in 3D printing, this is what to get.

Well, thank god I found a THC product that significantly helps me with my chronic pain management right before the fucking Democrats capitulate on a bill that has a provision banning all products with any amount of THC in them.

Sure, the Republicans won't touch weed at all. Mmm hmmm.

That post earlier made me realize, once again, how much I love @nicholaseames.bsky.social's Heartwyld books, and how I want many, many more of them (if that's in the cards).

Welp, folks, I've reached that point: I'm going to start modding my turntable(s) for better sound.

And I don't just mean replacing the cartridge or the platter mat... I mean ripping out and re-wiring electronics on my new ones, and re-capping my vintage one.

I am become that guy, modder of stuff.

Just a reminder: There is no such thing as an "objective" review.

Reviews, by their very nature, not only *are* subjective, but MUST BE subjective to be of any use whatsoever.

Without subjectivity, a review is just a spec sheet.

Government shutdowns should just be illegal. If the federal government ever shuts down, every single member of the Legislative Branch should be subject to an immediate recall, if not outright thrown in jail.

Shutting down the government should not be a viable pressure tactic.
