My first advice to junior contributors is to STOP using vibe coding for PRs. OSS is always about people more than about code. We don't need more code generated by LLM, we need more people who care.

Watch an episode of Scav, Amy's Dead-end Dreamhouse and The Getaway, and then tell me this isn't worth $3 a month (yes, it's that cheap!)

People make fun of Dickens for how ridiculously over the top his villains are.
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”

Thank you!
We're totally sponsor funded, so even the smallest sponsorships make a big difference
I recently started learning @gleam.run (mainly through exercism.io and codecrafters.io) and I'm really loving it so far. So much I decided to contribute to the project with a small recurrent donation.

The @uniofreading.bsky.social is spearheading the attack on trans rights within British universities and we need the @goodlawproject.org supporting its students and staff NOW.
We are hearing some very troubling stories about trans exclusion, supported by the University, at Cambridge. We are making contact with affected societies and individuals and will fiercely protect the legal rights of trans students to live with respect and dignity.

If you like Gleam please sponsor, or ask your employer to sponsor. Every contribution is meaningful, no matter how small.

Why Women in Tech isn't enough
Women in Tech spaces help, but fall short in the long run. Real progress needs systemic change and active involvement from men in positions of power.

It wasn't anti-white to support boycotting South African teams under apartheid.

It's not Russophobia to support boycotting Russian teams after the invasion of Ukraine.

And it's not antisemitism to support boycotting Israeli teams after a genocide.
