Criticism can come from a place of love. It means that you truly care about something to see and acknowledge it's flaws. Obviously, this is not every reviewer, nor will it ever be. But criticism doesn't always come from a place of cynicism. And it rarely ever should.

I think when the discussion of reviews re: fans of the series shouldn't review x game, it varies. I love the Baldur's Gate series and my review is arguably the least positive ENG review. My RGG reviews became increasingly critical of the series message and themes. This is bc of my love for it.

I met Khary Payton, Drebins’ voice actor at a con and someone had asked about how it was working on MGS4, if there was any standout moments to him he remembered.
He then began to describe being given Laughing Octopus’s backstory and genuinely thought he was being pranked.

I think going forward, a method that’s working pretty well is we’re going to have to start demanding more WIP/recordings of artists doing their process.
A number of AI using ones have already been caught fucking up or making excuses to get out of doing them.

I finally saw someone break down the art of that AI pixel artist that was going around and that shit still gets me anxious like way WAY too much evidence you see can be chalked up to human error or general stupidity and people get far too confident pointing them out

Every time I get back into this game, and find myself enjoying it, there's always something annoying like this. If you couldn't be bothered remaking that island's present gimmick at least give me a cutscene. Any new, somber feeling from the lack of payoff feels unintentional. It's so weird.

Last night I got to the Regenstein arc in VII Reimagined. I was pretty impressed with it, up until I got to the present and found out they cut Haven and didn't replace it with anything. No cutscene, no payoff, no field map to walk around on, nothing. Literally an empty island. That feels unfinished.
