Romeo is a Dead Man is gonna be one of those games that modernizes all the parts of games that I wanted modernized, and keeps everything cool about older games, isn't it.

If you don't see how this is one of the coolest interfaces ever, you did not grow up in the PC 98 era.

So obviously there's a ton of cool stuff in here, but among them are Apico and Mudborne, two sim games about Bees and Frogs, respectively! I played a bit of Apico when it first came out. It's really fun! You actually learn about bees and stuff. It's cool!

Our conversation on remakes in this made me pretty happy. It is RARE in this industry to have an opportunity to compare two remakes with vastly different approaches that came out very close in time to each other, belonging to the same franchise, worked on by some of the same people.

New Burnout Culture! And it’s a good one. We talk a lot about why Romeo Is a Dead Man feels so good, and the idea of sanding down remakes for new audiences

I don't see why he can't just take her home and check the lights on the way in.
Cool ad I just got now I understand ocd

I was actually interviewed for this article about it. The tl;dr is they cast a confirmed sex pest in the game and people are very upset for various reasons relevant to the series itself, but also the studio's handling of it has been very poor. Among other things.

Sometimes it takes someone tapping my shoulder and going "woah woah woah, check yourself," for me to realize I'm in a mania feedback loop.

Sorry again.
February 10, 2026 at 8:48 PM
I'd say 0-5 are still really good despite some stuff, and then you can treat 7 like a cool epilogue featuring a different character. 7 ends in a very "the series could end right here and it would feel pretty poetically fitting," kind of way.

I'm heated as fuck right now I'm sorry my ass is off the rails at the moment it's not you.
February 10, 2026 at 8:14 PM
You think my quality of life is worse because I think they're making a video game franchise I like go to shit? I'm fucking complaining about it, and then I'm going off to do shit I like! Or go to work! Or go do other shit!

What the fuck is this psycho analysis shit?
February 10, 2026 at 8:07 PM
What the FUCK are you talking about? You think I think about this 15 minutes after I post? You think I go outside, to lunch with my friends, and sit there and ruminate? DUDE. You can be fucking negative about something within the space of talking about it, and then go do other shit.

Whether it's because Nagoshi was holding it back, or because Yokoyama decided to be explicit about it. It's a significant change, and one that is difficult to ignore.

It only becomes more clear as time goes by that all of the series issues have only tripled since the exit of Nagoshi and the original Amusement Visions staff in 2021. An already growing wave turned into a flood once they were gone.
February 10, 2026 at 7:38 PM
Because as they've stated already multiple times in the last three years, they do not consider feedback. They don't look at your concerns. But you know what they can't ignore? Sales. Profits. You know what makes them start paying attention? When they lose money on their head-ass decisions.
February 10, 2026 at 7:22 PM
AND IF YOU BUY KIWAMI 3. IF YOU STREAM IT, MAKE VIDEOS ABOUT STUFF IN IT THAT ISN'T THE STUFF WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT, THAT MESSAGE WILL CONTINUE TO BE DELIVERED. You will continue to send the message to RGG Studio that there IS a fanbase supporting them on these decisions. That there's profit in it.
February 10, 2026 at 7:21 PM
And that is why you feel blindsided. That is why RGG Studio had the confidence to continue fostering this ass backwards view. That is how you get to the Kagawa casting looking like a great idea. That is how you get them defending it. We sent the message that they were on the money.
February 10, 2026 at 7:19 PM
And I do personally believe that: Because we didn't make a stink about it when the series blew up in the West, because we didn't vocalize our concerns over this before we reached this boiling point, we reinforced those harmful perspectives. We told that studio, "WE LOVE THIS!"
