Grief is such a shitty thing, isn't it? I mean, it's true what people say, it never goes away and you get better at living with it, but you never get *fully* better. You might learn to stop crying so much but you're always living with it.

🧵I've posted them before, but here's my thread of horror/kids' TV double-bill cinema posters. Happy Halloween...

There must be some unwritten law of the universe that, if you pick up two clementines, one will be juicy and taste incredible where the other will always have the texture and flavour of a tennis ball.

This is giving the vibes of one heck of a dark episode of Paddington.

A cold and wet afternoon means only one thing: time to make a pot of tea, notch up the heating and - even though Ustinov arguably wasn't the best Poirot - give his best outing another watch.

I still have my iPod, tho struggling to believe that it's getting on for 24 years old now. I keep meaning to go back to using it, but that project took a backseat to restoring my PS2 - which made way for sorting the spare bedroom, so I look forward to maybe having it fixed up in time for its 30th 😅

After what feels like about three months of systematically emptying, sorting and clearing every box of old possessions I'd stored in there I'm quite excited at the thought of finally finishing the spare bedroom today. Might even sleep in there to celebrate.

I mean, I work in the industry and I'm excited and all but that's enough for now thanks.

Two films in a month is rare for me, let alone two in a weekend. Pivoted away from Antiques Roadshow to GoodFellas tonight. Hadn't seen it in a while and forget just how good it is (and also just how long it is).

I'm not the best typographer but good grief this is practically three words.

Although I think we can all agree that Raiders of the Lost Ark is the best Indiana Jones movie I've gone in on Last Crusade which is somehow also the best Indiana Jones movie..? 🧐

Travelling back to York earlier than I thought I would've been, and I'm left wondering what the longest series of train journeys is that you can make, where you change trains at a stations with an incrementally higher number of platforms than the one you last changed at.

Never stops being weird that the Hiscox Insurance office in York has a decommissioned Soviet rocket in the foyer. NOBODY KNOWS WHY.

Visiting my mum this weekend and she's already told me about my brother's new girlfriend more times than she ever tried to talk about my boyfriend in the 4 years we were together. She's not a bad person and I'll always love her as my mum, but sometimes it's nice to know where you stand isn't it? 🙃

There's a new timepiece in town.
Rail Clock is a masterclass in meaningful simplicity.

Charging an iPhone from a Class 80x series train remains to be an experience, doesn't it? 🤨

Okay so our InterCity #225Day was back in May, it just takes me a while to get around to simple tasks - like sending a copy of a print to its illustrator! It's always a pleasure to work with Tom on jobs, and this one was no exception - and no better way to help fans celebrate such a special fleet 🙌
A nice little package arrived from @LNER today (thank you!).
My 'Swallow' print plus a couple of pins which were based on my illustrations, which was nice.
No prints or pins available, unfortunately!

I was fortunate to see Rail Clock before today and initially thought it a slow burn, but the more I look at it the more I appreciate its simplicity and focus on function whilst pushing the boundaries of innovative, clear and aesthetically pleasing information display. It's very special. A classic.

I love the clock, but any talk of clock just makes me think of this and I'm not sorry.

These are nice enough I guess but just bring back the Office 2011 for Mac icons and be done with it, cowards.

Oh, this is sad. Even if the film wasn't that great (although that was unlikely as he always seemed to lend his talent to the good ones), when Drew Struzan illustrated its poster he just elevated the whole thing to something beyond being just a movie. I can't put it better. A master.
RIP Drew Struzan
A master.

This is such a weird thing to say, but for a long time I wanted to use CompuServe just because they had those massive buttons in their UI 🥴
Anyone else miss when a UI like this was the front door to the internet?

Set myself the task of sorting and clearing the boxes of my amassed *stuff* in the spare bedroom this weekend. What I presume to be some form of undiagnosed ADHD meant that I didn't actually start until 3pm on Sunday 🙃
