Yes indeed. To stay there now is to be ok with your tweets appearing alongside actual paedophilia.

It’s hard leaving behind years of tweets, follows and interactions, but it’s the right thing to do.

Yes, I don’t want to delete as people can claim usernames and tweet all kinds of crap in your place once you’re gone.

It’s lovely here - no porn bots, nazi propaganda, Tommy Robinson or Elon - and it doesn’t feel like impending doom. Should’ve left Twitter a long time ago.

And don't forget to follow @transportdesigned.com!

Hit me with your recommendations for people/accounts to follow here? Anything to do with transport, design, communications, advertising, marketing, Europe, politics...or anything else fun/interesting!

That's it! Twitter profile locked. 🔐

Not yet deleting my profile as I still need to dig out the odd historic tweet every now and then, but I'll only be posting on here from now on.

It's a much nicer place to be 🙂

Awful, just awful.

From today's Express: 'UK's underused train route takes you through 75 miles of jaw-dropping scenery for £4' 👇

'For the price of a coffee and croissant, you can swap city pavements for cliffs, beach walks and fish-and-chips on the promenade.'

🐝 ONE YEAR TO GO. 🐝

Fantastic to celebrate one year until Northern customers in GM are part of the Bee Network today, alongside friends and colleagues including @andyburnham.bsky.social - and one special yellow train!

Northern x Bee Network. Let’s do this 💪

I get that it is ‘flaggy’. It’s the hypocrisy of putting flags on lampposts one week, then complaining that trains will be painted like flags the next. But who am I kidding - there’s no logic to any of this. It’s the far right working themselves up into a rage-filled flag wankfest as usual.
December 10, 2025 at 10:54 PM
It’s bizarre. 99% of them are either a) Russian bots or b) have been radicalised by Russian bots on Twitter. Crazy times.

Seems my earlier post about new GBR branding has whipped up the Farage supporters and Russian bots on the other hellsite.

I thought they liked flags? 🇬🇧
Shiny new GBR-ness at Manchester Piccadilly.

The floor/screen/gateline designs are actually quite attractive - very nice and bright, and hard to miss.

I've no doubt that the livery will be refined in time, and feedback will be taken on board about its application/use cases, differentiation for areas/locals/intercity. All in good time!

Loosely - local stopping services are thinner lines, intercity and longer distance services represented by thicker lines.

(PPS, there will doubtless be many mistakes / things to consider, so feel free to drop your feedback here)
December 4, 2025 at 8:39 PM
So, here's a work in progress for you. Full version dropping very soon.

(PS, this work is all very unofficial and not endorsed by GBR. But who knows...)

One of the pieces of feedback I had when we dropped Northern's new network map was that it didn't show the 'full' railway system. In a soon-to-be 'Great British Railways' world, we're moving towards a much more integrated railway.
December 4, 2025 at 8:39 PM
🗺️ Rail maps have been in the news this week, so I thought I'd share a sneak preview of the project I'm currently working on.

There is simply no place for cars anywhere within the inner ring road. They need to be completely banned.

Absolutely! Will drop you an email… 🙌

Announcing ‘A Mainline Station Heritage Artefacts Collection’
I have been thinking *a lot* about heritage artefacts at mainline railway stations over the last few years. They are so important in telling the story of the railway station at which they are located (and quite often the history of the wider railway industry), yet frequently go unrecognised and unprotected. They are often very beautiful things in their own right, as well.

This is absolutely incredible work Daniel, I'm so here for it. Drop me a DM and I can put you in touch with Northern's property team - I'm 1000% sure we'll be able to help you in some way. We are acutely aware of the heritage of a great many of our stations!

Fantastic to hear inspiring and uplifting presentations from @andyburnham.bsky.social & our very own Tricia Williams at Northern.

Integration is happening. We’re not waiting for GBR to legislate - we’re working together to deliver for our customers, now.
