You might have to be handy with a needle and thread in medieval England for more than just your clothing. These three pieces of 14th century parchment were neatly stitched together to form a long roll and we're fortunate that the stitches have survived in such good condition to the present day!

The recently restored 'Maison de la Truie qui File' (House of the Spinning Sow) is one of the landmark buildings in Malestroit, Brittany. Constructed in the early 16th century, it features several unusual carvings, including a hare playing the bagpipes and the eponymous pig spinning yarn.

It's #MementoMoriMonday!

These metal cups from the late 19th century are decorated with skeletons, both adult and infant, representing the Danse Macabre, or the "Dance of Death." They remind drinkers of the shortness of life and the inevitability of death.

This is my pencil drawing of the enormous Dolmen of Crucuno, a Neolithic burial monument near Erdeven in Brittany. Partially demolished in the 19th century, it was also used for many years as a barn. Its cap stone weighs around 40 tonnes. #TombTuesday

Parallels and connecting lines which run between Celtic mythologies make modern borders seem unimportant... and why shouldn't our kids be taught the stories of their own home places? - with nods to St Mungo, King Ailill of Connaught and the famously beautiful Nest of Gwynedd...

Here is a selection of medieval hedgehogs, as portrayed in illuminated manuscripts. Mostly from the 14th and 15th centuries.

Why? Because they are cute and I love them. And you all seem like discerning people of good taste.
