#Brussels 🇧🇪 in March 2002: an #SNCB #NMBS Class 20 electric is seen here with a #EuroCity consist. This used to be the usual setup for loco-hauled trains on the line to #Luxembourg 🇱🇺 for many years: the six-axle Class 20 was able to develop the power necessary on the gradients of the #Ardennes line.

Track renewal/bridge work continues several weekends. Temporary closure of some level crossings. Buses replace trains Ipswich-Halesworth. Sun 14/12 buses replace trains Ipswich-Woodbridge. Trains run the rest of the route to Lowestoft.

Photo taken exactly 25 years ago. I very well remember the date: I had just learned about the terrible Kaprun funicular disaster, watching TV in my hotel room in Nice.
