Make sure to give your reps a call-there will be a hearing on KOSA NOV 18th so get in your opinions as much as you can before that.
So what can you do? 🤔

1. Continue pressuring your lawmakers, let them know how unpopular and dangerous censorship and surveillance bills are.

2. Spread the word! Many people have no idea the internet they know and love is under threat.

That whine incessantly. They fight it tooth and nail. They threaten to leave.

But it's all bluster at the end of the day. They always cave because ultimately taxing the wealthy is good for business.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

I really need folks to call their reos and yell about the high priority bills. Things are moving along and legislators are getting a surprising amount of SUPPORT for these policies

Please do not assume this cannot happen. Please call, get your friends and family to call. Please.
now that the govt shutdown is over, y'all will need to really yell and scream about these bills because many of them are going to be pushed again.

tell your representatives to OPPOSE these shitty policies!

If you live in the US, call your fucking representatives and tell them to oppose KOSA, STOP CSAM and the SCREEN Act and tell them to protect Section 230.
www.badinternetbills.com#stop-csam

In addition to calling your reps, this website has both a lot of information explaining why these bills are bad/ why section 230 must be protected, as well as petitions to sign for each individual issue!

Signing petitions helps! Make your calls, sign petitions!

It's a day ending in a Y, so it's a good time to remind folks to yell at payment processors & credit card companies!

They're trying to remove our peers livelihoods--attacking video games, TTRPGs, vTubers, Kickstarters, comics, anything they define as vaguely "NSFW".

Well this is horrifying.

Basically phonics (sounding out words) is being taught as one of several ways to learn to read, but phonics is hard for both teachers and students, so for decades around half of kids haven't been learning to read.

This coupled with Gen AI-assisted writing later seems bad.
