As the year draws to a close, I’m signing off 2025 with a magical find!

An ancient amber bear. Carved some 10,000 years ago, it washed up on a beach at Fanø, Denmark, from a submerged Mesolithic settlement in the North Sea.

✨ Happy New Year all! ✨

I've kind of come around on the F1 movie, even though I still don't think it's that good

What was the best film you saw this year? (and what was the worst?)
Out of the 107 films I saw in cinemas this year so far, I've got a list of 22 contenders for my 'best of' list (usually about 10 or 12).

I'm expecting Marty Supreme to shake things up a bit but it's going to have to be a belter to earn its place.

Thinking about all the horrible/stupid interventions this Trump presidency would have made if it was in power last time, EOs on “race bending” etc

Today, I spoke with Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his wife, Jennifer. In April, when I met with him in El Salvador, Trump said he would never set foot in the U.S. again.

This case has never been about one man alone; if the govt can violate the constitutional rights of one, all our rights are threatened.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia speaks at the ICE Baltimore field office for a scheduled check-in. Abrego was released from custody after a federal judge ruled that the Trump administration lacked legal authority to continue holding him in an immigration detention center.

I mean, it’s a very fathomable way of doing business; many countries have worked and still do work this way. It’s just that none of them are places you’d want to live.
“.. Much of the analysis from Wall Street .. comes down to ‘Who does Trump like best? It’s an almost unfathomable way of doing business.’”
