America’s frontier myth/mythology of manifest destiny is Proto fascism, as are things like the Monroe doctrine and other moments that Trump is pulling from like Jackson and The genocide of indigenous peoples across the west. America’s history is moments of flawed democracy in a sea of Proto fascism
