Cars continues to be a top tier middle schooler movie. Got 8th grade boys that need to want to hang out in your room during non-instructional time? Cars

Also Paddington. And for girl buy-in (and boys like it too) Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse

I made the mistake of looking at the neighborhood Facebook group today to see about some HOA drama. No good can come from that. I only did it because I was home with a sick toddler.

Also, folks, you’re not going to win a legal battle against a NC mega HOA without spending an extraordinary amount

Stuck under a sick toddler right now and I made the mistake of opening LinkedIn. Can’t people just pick up a book or go for a walk in the woods instead of posting there?

My kindle is out of reach. I would like to read my book!

Ok nerds. What gives? Why does the American Red Cross push blood donations after 8 weeks while the NHS says women need to wait 16 weeks (men 12 weeks)?

Which evidence backs up which? #MedSky

My almost two years postpartum, still nursing body is so close to my normal but not quite.

Paying someone else to recaulk my walk-in shower while I was at work was worth every penny. It also no longer looks like a frathouse bathroom because the stuff living under that split caulk was gross.

What Cornell idiocy. JFC.

So I’m still glad I’m not getting the Tesla Powerwall when I get my solar panels + battery backup

Having to study to take an asinine legal standardized test makes some people very grumpy 24/7

So why are the oceans salty? Because the rocks are salty & the rivers keep moving that salt into the ocean.

I wish I could improve on this SciShow video talking about how salinity varies in response to local ecology.

In fact, I'm feeling salty that I can't.
Why’d the Ocean Stop Getting Saltier?

I sincerely hope Democrats pay attention to tonight’s results across the country. They won’t learn anything but still. Maybe. People are excited by change and original campaigns and bold ideas and candidates under the age of 50!

@hankgreen.bsky.social I turned on a video about cell division to show my 7th graders and I see my college classmate, Sam. Thank for finding the best people.

The Athleta email I got telling me I can earn rewards faster and earn free shipping for a smaller purchase suggests that the $100 legging market is lagging.

0% surprised because that market is women who also buy the groceries and household goods that now cost a fortune.

He specifically means the same HOA. This gives me a giggle every time I see it. Also I want this shirt.
Imagine buying a home for the same real cost, compared to your income, that your parents or grandparents did.

That's a reality today in Japan. 🇯🇵

How'd they do it? They built.

My neighborhood HOA should die but there is now a Compost Now dropoff site 3 minutes walk from my house and my kids (ages 10 and 1) played tag after dinner with a gaggle of neighborhood kids for 20 minutes in a green space across the street. It happens every night. We’re very lucky for that.

If there’s anything I could do as a lawyer (which I am not) it would be to go after parents who “homeschool” their kids but actually don’t teach them anything. Is that a thing? Probably for the state.

Because those kids are being irreparably harmed.

A 31” Mira wig is not the best wig for learning how to style a wig or secure a wig. I have Zero wig experience. Bonus points for doing it all for your 10 year old who has perfectionist cosplay tendencies.

I read The Water Outlaws by @slhuang.com this week. Highly recommend for some badass bad guy slaying fantasy with badass women at its center. Don’t miss the short story at the end once you’re done #BookSky

BRAND NEW SENTENCE LEVEL RESEARCH

Dinidorid stinkbug females are armed with leg holsters containing cordyceps species that they use to inoculate their egg clusters & grow a fuzzy fungal blankie that excludes parasitic wasps.

There is a LOT going on down there! #虫🌎
