The same corporations complicit in Israel’s ongoing genocide in Palestine are those roaming the halls of the #COP30.

From the fossil fuel industry to agribusiness, they’re also the same corporations driving the climate crisis and pushing communities to the frontlines

November kicks off Disability History Month and marks 30 years since the passing of the landmark UK Disability Discrimination Act. However, astoundingly, despite progress elsewhere disabled people still have no seat at the UN climate talks.

As a disabled child I felt valued. As an adult I embraced disability justice.

But after a recent care review I’ve felt like a burden to loved ones, my employer and even my paid personal assistants.

A state process leaving someone like me feeling this, is exactly why this narrative is dangerous.
Terribly irresponsible comments from Kim Leadbeater. Fearing being a burden is not a “legitimate reason” to seek an assisted death and the MP proposing the bill should not be musing whether it is. www.msn.com/en-gb/news/u...

Sad I can’t be there but proud that @friends-earth.bsky.social are joining the #MarchforGlobalClimateJustice today – against fossil fuels, for climate reparations and in solidarity with Palestine. Thank you to everybody taking part and calling for the climate justice so urgently needed globally.

… De Menezes moved towards officers and returned an open verdict, rejecting the police claim that he was lawfully killed. The Met police was also found guilty in a prosecution for breaking health and safety laws, being fined £175,000 and ordered to pay £385,000 in costs.

Seconded. Online to offline organising can be a powerful force for change making. Also online activist spaces are important for people who face barriers to IRL activism, like disabled people, some parents, people in rural areas etc.

I’d booked an accessible Malmaison hotel in Leeds, only to find it doesn’t mean wheelchair accessible?! They can give me a refund but as I’ll be booking another hotel at late notice, I’d need to cover the extra £100s myself. Anyone know if this right under Equality Act? Can’t recall as so stressed.

Having experienced the loss of the high court case on the climate adaptation case on Friday and feeling distraught at the continued genocide in Palestine, I’m finding it hard to stay hopeful.

Lessons of liberation from history, help me regain hope.

Any favourites to share?

To say I’m devastated is an understatement.

But I do know change is never linear, & it’s a diversity of tactics plus people power that wins.

Which we have in droves, with climate, disability and housing activists united for the first time.

Now to blow off steam at wheelchair rugby training.
Incredibly disappointed by the High Court ruling on our case against the government’s climate adaptation plan. Friends of the Earth took the case because we don’t think the plan does enough to protect communities from the impacts of climate change, with disabled & older people particularly at risk.

I wonder if there’s a language with a word to describe the mix of feelings when a high court judgment, on a case you’ve been working on for over a year, that people’s lives depend on, is being handed down in less than 12 hours?

On that…Climate Adaptation Plan Judgment is released Fri at 10am.

Oh hi, I’m new here, who should I follow?

So far I’ve followed Friends of the Earth folk, who made the switch from the bad place.

I’m a fan of climate, disability and class justice; and I’ll mainly be posting ponderings or questions about social change.

And photos of my cat, I guess.
