Could argue the misogyny Summers expressed both publicly while president of Harvard and in emails to Epstein says more about the culture at our most elite institutions than any of the frontpage freakouts over academia in the past few years but hey

Something that sticks with me: Alice Wong didn’t really gain notoriety for her work until the last decade or so. How many people who use wheelchairs or who have significant medical disabilities does the world write off simply by how we visually perceive them? Farewell, Alice.

This totally applies to us East Asians too, and we would frequently tell feel-good stories of overcoming racism to find success in this country in a way that focus on our hard work and gloss over who did the heavy lifting to fight racism in this country and fight for civil rights for all.
- shit on other minorities (this one is important)
- accept a constant stream of tiny humiliations
- perform diversity in a few small acceptable ways like making specific appropriate Indian dishes (with the spices toned down of course)
- and of course, most importantly, always defer to white people

This is cultural racism. Anyone heard about the desi aunties? I mean, it's a real thing. It is legit what he would have called his dad's cousin, and that connection might be remote in many families, but that is, again, CULTURAL.

As we mourn the 1,218 lives lost that day, let us also keep alive the dream of a lasting peace and a better future for all.

Ceasefire now. Every hostage must come home. And a safer world for everyone.
