What a week! After 5 days, the #mitnb workshop has come to an end. We had a keynote on time scales and two workshops on careless responding and reliability. The central part of the workshops were the hackathons. We had super diverse hackathons, all designed to assess measurement in #ESM. (1/4)

What an incredible resource for the field! Thanks & congrats to @bsiepe.bsky.social and the whole team!
We built the openESM database:
▶️60 openly available experience sampling datasets (16K+ participants, 740K+ obs.) in one place
▶️Harmonized (meta-)data, fully open-source software
▶️Filter & search all data, simply download via R/Python

Had a great time presenting my poster exploring people's thoughts & feelings about death w/ #BERTopic this evening at the Society for Research in Psychopathology Annual Meeting! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat– it was wonderful learning more about others' work and nerding out! 💀🪦

I reply here to Mickey Inzlicht’s critique of our assessment of the TMT literature -led by former grad students, Lihan Chen and Rachele Benjamin. We consider the question of how can we best evaluate a literature and, judging from his critique, reach a controversial conclusion.
Last week I declared terror management theory dead and accused my friend Steve Heine of motivated reasoning. Steve responded like the mensch he is with a solid rebuttal instead of blocking me. Read his guest post and tell us both who you think is right in the comments!

Last week I declared the social psychology of death officially dead.
