I teach remotely. My students each get a physical dictionary from their local district. I pull out my Shorter OED in class and they use their M-W Intermediates.
They love it. It’s retro and cool and different. And they like that you can easily browse words in chunks just flipping through.
Merriam-Webster, the country’s oldest dictionary publisher which is headquartered in Springfield, just released an updated Collegiate edition with 5,000 new entries.

The same rich idiots that told me downloading a song on Napster was like stealing a car are trying to tell me that absorbing every movie ever made into *THE ROBOT* is fair use, actually, and a legion of dickriders coming to defend them because it's the future. Like fuck off.
This is the core of it. People think they're mad at the AI boogeyman but really they're mad about copyright law.

Actually, Astros confessing under immunity was done to protect league-wide cheating, in a domino effect of players outing other players. You may call it getting a slap on the wrist, but it saved your favorite teams.
