A forest-focused Bluesky account ought to have a photo of ... well ... a forest.

So, here we are.

The 1st 📷 I posted to my main account after migrating here. Apropos that it's the opener on the #ForestFriday page, too.

A chilly & foggy fall morning on the slopes of Mount Rainier.

This is the first forest photo I posted on Bluesky. March 18th. Just days after migrating over from the former bird app. 🐦 Well before I decided to make #ForestFriday a project. The photo is from a hike on the slopes of Mount Rainier. November of 2024. It was a chilly but crystal clear fall morning. Excellent lighting. Description: A row of three evergreen tree trunks to the left. More of the forest and a glimpse of blue sky can be seen in the background. There are ferns along the forest floor. Happy trails, my friends ✌️

A smooth light brown convex-capped armillaria borealis mushroom, aka northern honey fungus in a patch of sunlight growing out from a moss-covered log on the forest floor. The cap has a few brown spots on it and white gills underneath. There are some fallen leaves and pine sprigs. And a bokeh effect in the foreground and background.
