The Fantasy and Fashion of Bloodborne, with the character advancement and depth of D&D. These are the devlogs from myself, Ciaran!
I consider a melee attack in a ttrpg to be first a test of dexterity to land the blow, and then a test of strength to detirmine the effectiveness of a landed blow.

Is this just a rigid formula I've swallowed whole from 80s ttrpgs?

How much does this match the reality of attacking?

As a player, I adore grind, limitations and repetition.

I don't design toward these, as I feel like the trend leans away from them.

But is there an established 'style' of roleplaying where the intention is that you repeated highly boundried, solveable scenarios/dungeons through to success?

Pretty happy with the content of the first map of the Mortal Isles - did this draft in Inkarnate. Any thoughts about different tools or techniques would be much appreciated!

What woudl be the climate/culture consequences of a world where:

- it was flat, sloping slightly southward.
- the south was where the sun rose and fell, and also a vast end-of-the-world waterfall.
- the north was a frozen point of white, where time stood still.
- east and west were endless.

Have you ever been lost in a video game level, wandering empty halls, until you know you're going the right way because you finally run into enemies? Because you don't know what to do without conflict? Well some people live their real lives that way

It is tempting, as a Teller, to want to know the world in its entirety; from the unceasing trees that will grow over us when we are long dead, to the stars that burn with a light from before we thought to wonder at them. But selectiveness is an art, and you cannot know all.

If you had to name one or more ttrpgs that sat in a slightly more accessible, slightly more light hearted space than the already wonderfully accessible and light hearted Realms of Peril, what would they be? www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/4... #ttrpg #rpg #realmsofperil

If you enjoyed a game on Itch, leave a comment!

Honestly, it really brightens a creator's day. And it's a big encouragement for others who may be interested in getting that game.

Itch hides reviews from the game page, so I find comments more useful in the long run.

Like a game? Comment away!

SPINE has been my passion project for six months or so. It really took over my brain, and I couldn't get it out until I made it. That said, it's not your typical commercially viable ttrpg.

If you would RT or QRT the original post, I'd be sincerely grateful. I'd like the world to see SPINE.
NEW (FREE) GAME FORTHCOMING:

SPINE is a dark solo ttrpg about losing yourself in a book.

In SPINE, you are a researcher who has inherited a strange book from an estranged relative…

First job post Player's Guide - a trial adventure. Think I'm gonna be leaning into this brilliantly weird set up from Alien Earth. A decadent banquet, where the guests are the food. Or something like that.

First version of Folkstory is now available. It's the Player's Book - Folklore, and a playtest version. I'd say about 80% of the final content is in there, with about 40% of the balance.

Get it here: ciarano84.itch.io/folkstory-fo... for one whole dollar dollar bill.
