The Fantasy and Fashion of Bloodborne, with the character advancement and depth of D&D. These are the devlogs from myself, Ciaran!
I realise the picture is misleading. I'm writing a game where you are most likely to be wielding a weapon. Or an object that you've repurposed as a weapon.

To answer your question, my system treads familiar ground here. A game that offers a multitude of ways round violence, but ultimately gives the punters what they want (which is to punch the goblin).

Its about as much as i have. And likewise, it was just a blur. I was mainly focused on staying upright. I failed.

Hey! I'd be very happy to build a game around your one flirt with violence.

Yea i suppose that reality is mechanically uninteresting as it puts all the emphasis on size. Thereby ruling out clever/fast options (or making them much less appealing).

When you think of fine rpg combat, is that d&d?

It's up there for me. Or down. Depending on how baffled I am.

I came here expecting to read two random weapon properties for a game I knew nothing about. I was weirdly pumped.

HOWEVER. this is far more useful, thank you!

What I want and what I need rarely line up.

I'm more one to run away when I get even a whiff of making progress.

That's super interesting - I guess because as a buyer of rp books, I tend to gravitate to the rules, and be a bit 'yea whatever' about the theme.

That said, some themes do then emerge for me from rules systems and really grab my attention (I'm looking at you, Eclipse Phase).

So - are you saying that you think one is better off presenting an rpg system with a setting, rather than without one?

ah thanks so much! that's super helpful.

They are super nice! Who manufactured them? We're gonna need some custom dice at some point.

I think the perfect twist is one you see coming about a second beforehand.
