The biggest backer of the Acorn carbon capture project is pulling out. It is clear that this technology cannot be relied on.

Scottish Ministers must now reject plans for a new gas burning power station at Peterhead once and for all.

The closures at Grangemouth & Mossmorran have exposed the lack of transition planning by both Governments.

Leaving workers at the hands of uncaring corporations & the market is deeply unjust.

2025 saw the fight for a circular economy in Scotland go global.

We learnt how our supply chains are impacting on indigenous people in South America, fought for a international plastic treaty, and supported communities in Scotland to campaign for a better future.

Scottish Ministers' huge climate gamble with carbon capture is delusional. 🤯

Ministers are betting that this dodgy tech will cut equivalent of 1/3 of *all Scottish emissions* by 2040.

But right now there is no plant, no planning application & now the main developer is quitting.

This decision is a huge embarrassment to both the Scottish and UK Governments.

The Acorn carbon capture project's main backer is pulling out of the scheme.

Politicians have promised over £280million of (supposedly scarce) public money to a technology with a long history of failure.
