Another display deck at The Hangar got a bit of re-arrangement yesterday. The Canadian 🇨🇦 section now has a couple of more early jets added. (The maintenance crew wore themselves out with all that maneuvering in this tight space.) - Cheers 🍻 #ModelAircraft

That’s actually not too bad for a first try with miniature brick wall!
I hope the Vallejo plastic putty I smeared in there is not shrinking too much, we will know in an hour or so 😂

I've put together a quick'n'dirty grass mat base for the Trumpeter Emil. This is really just to prevent the undercarriage from splaying over time - and eventually collapsing altogether. And like the rest of the build, is deliberately low-effort!

Made some cuts and inserted styrene sheet to box-in the intake interior. I‘ll fill the cavity with water-soluble putty and then sculpt a duct. 🤓

Getting things into shape looks quite messy, but I am slowly getting there.
I’ll need copper wire to produce decent leading edges with a constant radius for the cooling air intakes.

2025 round up, only 5 fully complete models this year, half the usual number. Here's hoping for more bench time in 26 #HistScaleModels

Experience pays off this round on my B-25D Mitchell #ModelAircraft project. I only tack glued the forward nose glass & top hatch (as a bit of dust always seems to gather on the interior) Used some blu-tak to clean it up some. Day is waning so I’ll be back to do more another day. #HistScaleModels

Slow going on the finer points of this P-47D SEAC Jug #ModelAircraft but at least I kept coming back to do a bit more. Working on the engine, gear and racks on this quiet Sunday #histscalemodels

Current state of play on my bren carrier... Actually not that much more needs doing. Helmets, some stowage, bit of weathering, pigments and I reckon I'll have this done soon!

Roll on the mojo for something I've been building since 2021 😅

My first attempt at a 1//72 biplane.

Roden Sopwith Camel Comic

Still needs a pile of work on the paintwork, and a tweak here and there. Decals, weathering etc.

Be gentle 😂

Cleaned and ready for a better paint job. Also a big up for this product. If you need an easy paint strip this Mr Hobby stuff works great and you don't need very much so the tiny bottle will last for a long time. 👍

And with that, the Trumpeter 1/32 Bf 109E-4 in Bulgarian markings is done. My first completion for 2026, and quite possibly my best so far. Very pleased with how well it turned out for such a low-effort build. ResKit exhausts, Barracuda wheels, and a minor prop mod.

Damn, I have never had a model that has confounded me and make me question what to do next as this guy. I am so bogged down. I haven't even started painting.
If I step back, it will be the third time.

I think I need to push through.

#histscalemodels #scalemodels Progress on the Grumman F3F-2. Cockpit almost done. A bit of a catastrophe when the decal of the instrument gauges flopped back onto itself. I wasn't able to unfold it. Only the white backgrounds survived. Maybe no one will notice if I close the canopy.

Something as simple as a slightly grubby panel line wash can really bring a model to life. For the upper surfaces, I used Tamiya's "Dark Brown" product, which is terrific. For the blue lower surfaces, I went with a certain Spanish product that was far less terrific.
