Imagining the reactions to a semi circle at Stonehenge because the Greeks thought those giant slabs belonged in a museum in Athens.

Another great thread on #FamilyFarmTax Unless and until we start to hear a more balanced view, it'll be those farmers in genuine need who continue to struggle.

Painting IHT as though it's the key issue that's killing off farming when it's a red herring.

Remembering one of my favourite #cycling trips. Where you could pedal through two countries in time for lunch, take on one of cycling's most iconic climbs ( #Poggio ) and be home in time for dinner.

Now that she owns Jeremy Clarkson (net worth £55m) Victoria Derbyshire's family have to pay inheritance tax on him when she dies.
“So it’s not about you, it’s not about your farm and the fact you bought a farm to avoid inheritance tax?”

@vicderbyshire.bsky.social speaks to Jeremy Clarkson at the farmers’ protest in Westminster where thousands of farmers are protesting the government’s inheritance tax plans.

These are real problems that need real & carefully thought through long-term solutions … & we should thank you for flagging them … but favourable tax regimes for super wealthy landowners is not it

This is a great piece. Balanced and actually captures a perspective that you don't really hear in the debate... The business of news. iandunt.substack.com/p/twitter-is...
