Loved this conversation with @davidpierce.xyz and Cory Doctorow, especially as it made a really human articulation of how @eff.org is relevant to normal users’ concerns on the internet. youtu.be/pwq1oNgrKN8

Okay, for the folks who asked: here's the majority AI view, writing up the reasonable, thoughtful view on AI that the vast majority of people in tech hold, that gets overshadowed by the bluster and hype of the tycoons trying to shill their nonsense. anildash.com/2025/10/17/t... Please share!

So for-profit AI companies have trained on the world's largest collaborative volunteer project and a precious free resource, to make money for their for-profit enterprises. They have crushed traffic to the volunteer project, starving it of donors and volunteers

The future @jeffjarvis.bsky.social and @leolaporte.me wanted to see.
wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...

For your professional goals, make a habit of just steadily putting points on the board, consistently doing a little bit steadily, even if you’re bad at it sometimes. You’ll be amazed at how quickly successes start to compound. Don’t let your job get in the way of your career.
