Great idea!
A great idea!
"Australia will offer at least three hours of free solar power every day under an energy-saving programme that is expected to go live in 2026. Customers must have a smart meter, and will benefit if they shift their peak usage to the middle of day to run appliances and charge vehicles."
Australia to offer three hours free solar per day to millions
Australia will offer at least three hours of free solar power every day to households including those without solar panels under an energy-saving programme that is expected to go live in 2026, energy minister Chris Bowen said on Tuesday.

Surprised Johnson's name hadn't come up (yet) he seemed to be involved in every other sordid scandal
Surely, if you know you are in the Epstein files, the best thing to do is to go public now, hold up your hands & confess to whatever you have done?

However bad for you, it will be better than keeping your head down and waiting until the Epstein files are released and we all know what you have done.

We should try this in Scotland
Protesters carrying signs reading "our forests are not for sale" broke through security lines of the COP30 climate talks in Belém, Brazil.

"We want our lands free from agribusiness, oil exploration, illegal miners and illegal loggers," said one protester.

Biggest beneficiary of donations from private health firms: Labour health secretary Wes Streeting.

This is a scandal.

Not only does evidence show that NHS prioritisation is more expensive and has worse outcomes for patients but UK voters have never given permission to privatise their NHS.
More evidence that Tory privatisation of public services, only leads to worse services for its users and workers. The owners get richer and the rest of us are left worse off. Would like to know how many Tory politicians 'invested' in these companies.

Am I the only person who got "Tragedy" running through my head when I heard that Robbie Gibb had resigned?
There's a certain schadenfreude in witnessing the rest of the 'UK' catching up with what Scotland has known for decades.

If only someone could invent gas powered slot machines he would be in hog heaven...#fartage
You may have missed this gem yesterday. From which we learn that:

1. Betting shops are really good for the mental health of isolated people.
2. Most drug-takers are not a problem.
3. Kids put tuppence in slot machines in the hope of getting rich.
4. Farage probably has a gambling industry donor.

"That's apart from viewers in Scotland...."
I’ve written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage urging them to condemn Donald Trump’s attack on the BBC.

The BBC belongs to Britain, not Trump. We must defend it together.

BBC Scotland needs to be devolved to Scotland
End political appointments to the BBC.

Now.

We badly need a properly functioning BBC.

It is essential for our democracy.
But that is not enough. No.10 should never have been in a position to install Gibb in the first place. It shouldn't control the board membership, the DG appointment, or the purse strings. What's required is genuine independence for the BBC.
