Greedy, to eat all that! You’ll end up with your teeth all grey.
I’d much prefer NASCAR having a points reset halfway through the season than to return to the old Chase format of 10 races

Don’t get too excited over the Toto news. He’s only selling 5% of the team… he’ll still own 28% and will stay on as CEO/TP

Something interesting not a lot of people noticed in the leaked charter agreement: chartered cars can only have up to 3 drivers in a season, barring emergency situations NASCAR can waive the limit for.

I listened to the new Teardown, and like, I have something new to rant about:
Something playoff apologists say a lot is “You can’t please everybody”, and like. Okay. That’s objectively true. But do they even matter that much in other sports?

I stand by my take that season 5 of the Simpsons in general is the strongest in the show’s history. GOAT writing era after they had really nailed down how the show should look and feel

Went to close out Multiviewer and chuckled at this.
Lawson led a 7 car DRS train at the end, because he only did a one stop. I'm hoping this can be fixed in the new regs, but I'm not holding my breath.

The context here is that these two are, weirdly, unable to look up their own salaries on baseball-reference.com and thus unaware how trivial these sums are relative to their income; there is no reason to consider the possibility that the rate was low because they were doing this a lot

Without that Zandvoort engine failure, Norris would have a comfortable 42 point lead in the championship, would have effectively eliminated Max, and we’d be debating if he clinches at Vegas or at the Qatar Sprint.

So Norris is the only driver who now controls his own destiny.
Meanwhile, McLaren has even less of a reason now to play favorites. Verstappen only has a viable chance with both McLarens having multiple DNFs now.

Even if Oscar wins all 3 races+1 sprint remaining, if Lando finishes P2 in all of them he'd still win the title by 2 points.

Fair play to Lando. He has been a different driver since COTA. A champion caliber driver.

We'll never know, but I think Max might have been able to hang on if he had not pitted there for these softs. If he hadn't, he would have finished second at worst.

Red Bull might have overthought this. The softs have not been great.

Vettel is being interviewed on the F1 TV show.
He was asked who he thinks could win the championship. He was fair to all three drivers but mentioned that Norris has the momentum, and he's not wrong.

Maybe the most Lewis thing I've seen in a while tbh
Seb Vettel asked a bunch if F1 drivers to draw pictures of trees because he's working on protecting the rain forest. All the guys drew cute little trees. Then Lewis Hamilton shows up on some other shit. I wasn't ready.

Watching it again and I stand by this take.
It really is incredible just how much stuff is packed into those 22 minutes. And how there’s a great joke every 10 or so seconds

Cape Feare is probably the real best episode of the Simpsons. People gas up Homer’s Enemy, and that is the last episode of that classic era, but I never see references or laugh at it like I do every other minute like I do Cape Feare

A rather remarkable list, from Motorsport Magazine:

A rather remarkable list, from Motorsport Magazine:
Add a new one to the pile: flashing forward to 2024 for Homer’s 50th high school anniversary and he’s now an old man.
This episode where Lisa gets addicted to a 1-900 hot line as the B plot, followed by a scene in which Bart just straight up watches a scene from a Ren and Stimpy cartoon might take the cake.
A new one is Lisa teaching Maggie what an emu is. Every other ad on TV is a fucking horrendous Liberty Mutal ad starring an emu for no particular reason

If this were to happen and Norris loses the championship next month, a lot of people are going to be looking back at that Zandvoort engine failure that set Lando back 18 points.
If things stand as race results tomorrow, Norris would be 22 points ahead of Piastri and would essentially put Verstappen out of the championship with a 64 point gap.
