Just a progressive scientist who actually cares more about people than scoring points. What's so wrong with being compassionate and caring? It's a lie that we have to trample our neighbors in order to succeed.

Good Monday morning, friends!!

I was definitely radicalized by some of these programs.

But thankfully my family has always been deemed "radical" by the Nazis who've always been here.

Have a day y'all!! Stay warm!

MAGA logic:

Trump suing the government he runs for billions that would be paid by American taxpayers?

- "The statute is what the statute is"

Respecting the rights guaranteed in the bill of rights?

- "The statute is what the President says it is"
While discussing Trump's plans to sue the IRS for $10 billion Johnathan Turley evoked the French King Louis 14th. Odd choice considering many years later his relative, French King Louis 16th, would be decapitated by his own people partly due to extravagant spending. 🤷‍♀️

MAGA principles:

Manipulating the system to avoid accountability for exploiting others in the pursuit of personal gain?

- shrewd business practice

Using legal procedures in ways that are consistent with the purposes for which they were intended?

- perversion of justice
Such blatant corruption — which the media will, of course, totally ignore.

Damn. 🔥

“.. Observing human behavior confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency. And the rule of law be damned.”

If Trump thinks Americans are going to go quietly into fascism he’s even more demented then we thought. He doesn’t understand our love of country, our love of freedom, our love of Democracy. He doesn’t understand the pushback he’s unleashed in America. He doesn’t understand the upset he’s unleashed!

The thing that shocks me most is that all of this incriminating stuff was sitting at the DOJ for 4 years and Biden & Garland were not cynical or ruthless enough to use it against Trump & Musk in the run up to 2024.

If only they were the evil ‘weaponizers of government’ that MAGA claimed they were!

Journalism is not a crime.

The Justice Department should investigate the federal agents who killed US citizens in broad daylight, not arrest reporters like Don Lemon. He should be released.

It's a spine-chilling assault on press freedom and threatens the public's right to know.

The justifications coming from some people about why Alex Pretti deserved to be shot dead sound eerily familiar.

It's like with Adam and Eve, where the common response to how all the suffering inflicted on humankind as punishment could possibly be perfect justice is, "Well, they didn't comply."

If somebody in one breath says,

"You cannot call them fascist, they're not doing X, Y, Z that this real fascist did"

and in the next breath,

"All the people in this group I can't define are anti-American socialist, communist, Marxist, globalists,"

methinks their motives are highly suspect.

"If the government orders you to do something, you don't have the right to disobey just because the government's actions are illegal or they lack the authority to make you. That's domestic terrorism, but even when it's not, you started it so it's your fault when somebody kills you."

Alex from our time working together, while he was in nursing school. Later, he moved to ICU, working as a nurse to support critically ill Veterans. He had such a great attitude. We’d chat between patients about trying to get in a mountain bike ride together. Will never happen now

I've heard some rumblings from MAGA about the declaration of independence being a form of protest, but also an act of war, blurring the lines and hinting at some implication that protestesting the government is a form of insurrection.

Seems on brand.

Disqualification from holding office?

- Anti-democratic! Let the voters decide!

Punishment for committing crimes?

- Political persecution! Let the voters decide!

Limit authority to disenfranchise voters?

- Voting sucks, screw democracy!
every time I read this, I get apocalyptically apoplectic about how clear it is. it is instant. it does not require explicit congressional action to invoke, it instead only requires that to remove.

donald trump is not the current president right now, according to the constitution.

Sure, ICE isn't a secret police force, just an anonymous one.

People who look or think different vanish in broad daylight while the world watches, not for breaking the law, but to deliver the performative cruelty that was promised.

The bullets in her face was the sentence.
What Senator McDaniel is saying, is exactly what is happening with ICE. The video evidence is everywhere and very conclusive.

So atheists believe in the Christian god but deny it just to sin?

The being that took 3 days off from living with the family he cursed to bribe himself into waving the punishment he required for all sinners that kiss the ring, no works required?

Sinners be like, "Daddy!"
