Labor has just blown any enviro credentials they may've had by approving final step in the biggest new fossil fuel project in the Southern Hemisphere. A betrayal & disastrous for the future of our 🌎. We can't protect our planet while we are digging and burning new fossil fuels.

It’s time to stop just talking about the Gaza atrocities. It is time to do something about them.

As govt prepares to remove children from the NDIS, the agency in charge of the scheme has been torn to shreds by the administrative review tribunal for breaking the law, 'repeated non-compliance' and conduct that constitutes contempt. A pattern emerges. www.thesaturdaypaper.com.au/news/politic...
Exclusive: NDIA accused of ‘repeated non-compliance’ as it prepares for autism reforms
While advocates say they have been ambushed by Labor’s plans to eject autistic children from the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the agency has been accused of ignoring multiple legal orders.

ABC statement on Richard Boyle - About the ABC
The ABC welcomes today’s decision not to convict whistleblower Richard Boyle, although his case again highlights the need for whistleblower protections to be strengthened.

Neoliberal solutions always involve gutting state welfare and pushing these responsibilities onto the (unpaid) shoulders of women in the home.
So let’s say you have a child with autism who throws furniture in the family home each day - there isn’t funding for a DSW to come in and help the family clean up, do homecare, help participants shower, etc. It pushes the work back to the family care provider - women

The anti-genocide movement has been driven by below: activists rather than bureaucrats, people rather than NGOs, students rather than professors, etc. Almost without exception, the top echelons of society have tried to stop the protests, not the genocide.

Marles says it is entirely appropriate for US administration to review AUKUS, so why are he and Albo so opposed to an independent review here in Aust? Our national interest seems to be to neutralise the LNP at any price, not to envision our place in the world. Labor tacticians, not statesmen.

Phoned Transport NSW to change a detail regarding a vehicle that is registered, jointly, with my husband. It was explained to me that I could not authorise the change as I was not the primary owner…That Transport NSW followed the legacy protocol of the husband is the primary. What year is this?

@jetstarairways.bsky.social what are you doing to help?
Well then. Jetstar just refused me not one flight, but two. After I successfully booked and paid and turned up.

Bad news, bitches. I’m not 79 years old and I am so across your past discrimination it’s not funny.

See you in court, @jetstarairways.bsky.social !

Unacceptable, but not surprising. While supporting my sibling, with multiple disabilities, we find the INFLEXIBILITY of the health care SYSTEM to adapt to and meet the needs of individual patients a major challenge.

Our household has COVID, primary school the likely source. Once again our community is awash with this virus, the 2nd-3rd major spike this year without any v ‘low’ period. Every (re)infection does damage so pls work to minimise spread, to protect yourself & others. It’s not another common ‘cold’. 1/

It has been two weeks since Gail Furness released her NACC Robodebt 6 report that rendered Commissioner Brereton's position untenable. That he continues to cling to power and further undermine the already cratering public confidence in the NACC is bizarre and, hopefully, temporary. #auspol

The National Disability Insurance Agency is doubling down on its (deliberate?) misreading of its new legislation, popping up new Q&As online today that repeat the errors I've pointed out to them repeatedly now. Their Q&A vs the law. They think it ~only~ applies to specific info requests. Wrong.
