First Past the Post keeps promising stability and delivering chaos.

Governments are elected on a minority of the vote. They impose their agenda without listening to or negotiating with anyone.

They fail and collapse. Rinse and repeat.

There is a better way. It's time for PR.

Thankfully, we have independent boundary commissions in the UK, so American style Gerrymandering can't happen here. But the weaknesses in First Past the Post that allow things like Prop 50 to happen are just as present.
What can the UK learn from California’s Prop 50 gerrymandering plan?
A high-stakes fight is underway in the United States over redrawing the constituencies for the House of Representatives in Washington, DC. One flashpoint is California’s Proposition 50

Hearing about the beauty of cooperation in Finland, it hits home.

A system that expects parties to listen, compromise and find common ground produces calmer politics and better decisions.

Canada can have that too with proportional representation. We just have to choose it.

#ProportionalRepresentation would make every vote count in every district. That's not radical—it's just fair.
