If you want to know what kind of progress we've made in childhood bullying, consider how the kids of IT: Welcome To Derry are acting like they've never been bullied or fought another kid in their lives.

This post is about California NIMBYs, IE the people who voted hereditary feudalism into being with Prop 13. The "lived experience" they want to preserve is their own home prices going up and everyone outside the nobility can go hang.
While @resnikoff.bsky.social's article has some valid criticism, part of the challenge underscored here is that the YIMBY movement needs to continue to engage with justice orgs and listen to the lived experiences in dialogue. Swooping in and telling communities what to think is the wrong approach.

Thanksgiving Day Parade ads have some truly sociopathic entries, with an ad for a fake Christmas movie that turns out to be AI and a Gemini commercial and an FB ad talking about connecting people when Meta is openly focusing on connecting its users with bots

See, an expert on Good Times would know not to threaten people with one
The issue isn't who gets representation, it's that once you start unwinding federalism, why stop at presidential elections? Why bother having "states" at all other than as national administrative boundaries?
And why keep the Senate at all? Why not just a giant House, proportionally elected?
Sorry, but this is nonsensical. Federalism isn't a binary. Elect the President by national popular vote and both the little and the big empty states STILL get overrepresented in the Senate, which, need I remind you, confirms judicial and other nominations.

Dear Lord, the Ayatollah Mamdani has to look into annexing the state when he takes over. This is positively barbaric
So getting a lot of questions about this, basically, Bergen County is one of the last counties in the United States that has a Sunday closing law which bans the sale of electronics, clothes, etc., but it does not apply to groceries, so Costco is open, but any non-groceries look like this:

Regret to say that, for all his personal failings, Ethan Slater is extremely good in Wicked: For Good.

(And yes, Cynthia Erivo brought the house down with No Good Deed. Literally had a round of applause in my theater)

Is this good

Really disappointing news from Mamdani. This does not suggest he's taking the concerns that Lander was meant to assuage particularly seriously

Oh, he *really* wants to fuck her
Uh. I don't think that Nuzzi piece is "ironic" guys

Look, I know Vince Gilligan is doing everything in his power to make his new show, Pluribus, fail, from putting it on Apple TV to saying nothing about the premise, but it's a fucking banger so far and everyone should watch it. Get Rhea Seehorn the flowers the Emmys somehow denied her on BCS!

Honestly, the conditions the Democrats are setting are already a huge favor to the GOP. They're letting them bail out of a horrifyingly bad policy that hurts their own voters!
“It’s not that I’m for austerity, it’s just that I’m against bailing out AI, crypto, private assets/university endowments, and I’m fine with canceled Thanksgiving flights and missed paychecks as long as Republicans take the blame for it.”

HOLY FUCKING SHIT, THE TOS VIOLATION GUY DID IT

I do believe that was the GOP's best pickup opportunity

Spanberger won before Trump's bedtime. In retrospect, it may have not been smart for the GOP to be the face of a government shutdown while trying to govern a state that's like 90% federal workers.

So what I'm getting from this is that Lindsay Ellis deserves less tedious fans.

Meanwhile, the American electorate elected a senile fascist because burrito taxi drivers started getting slightly less underpaid. I cannot imagine the tantrum many will throw if you tell them they're paying higher taxes to be on the same healthcare system as The Poors.
i'm a classical social democrat. i think we should raise tax on the upper tax brackets, increase broad-based tax enforcement, and provide universal programs on transit, housing, and healthcare. this apparently is viewed as neoliberalism
you get the feeling that half of the people involved want like, Dubai/Saudi style taxation but leftistly

Boooo, this bloodsport is no fun. This is like if Ben Shapiro stepped into a boxing ring with, like, Rodtang.

It's a good thing her job didn't involve talking to reporters, or I might wonder about the people who employed her

Watching the new IT series, and I suspect we have new levels of iPhone face. Like, the child actors are good, but one of them has a face that suggests he was birthed live on TikTok

"What do you people actually believe?" from a supposed leftist defending Nazi tattoos is just hilarious.
October 25, 2025 at 4:43 AM
Please notice how Harper accepts Platner's "it's an anonymous source" excuse to discount proof of Platner lying, but then uses an anonymous source to support Platner's claims.

Because he knows he has to claim it's reluctant, but he *wants* the Nazi tattoos guy.
