Furious Liberals Call for Schumer to Step Aside, Senate Dems Mostly Quiet
After their shutdown surrender, liberal lawmakers are begging their base to unite behind them anyway – as Trumpland celebrates that their opposition is a bunch of 'p*ssies.'

Insurance operates via risk pools to smooth out the cost of providing coverage. An individual "negotiating" with an insurance company will be assumed to be high risk, and premiums will be astronomically high. If the money that currently goes to healthcare companies is distributed amongst Americans, it'll come to about $400 per person. Per year. This is what he expects us to use to buy our own insurance. I wonder if we'll be able to negotiate them down to $35 per month.

Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".
But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.

okay, let's take this at face value then. aside from the promised vote, what's the plan to harness that major national issue for results? is there a legislative strategy beyond spending weeks crafting a bill that will either die via filibuster or in the House because there's no incentive to pass it?
Oh @durbin.senate.gov is out on this surrender publicly and he is openly being contemptuous of the base - sounding like the coward he has always been.
