I tell the story to my horses. Literally sit on a mounting block surrounded by my horses and tell them the story. Then I wonder out loud with them. Somehow, in that horse discussion, the story moves!
If I'm stuck while outlining, I'll start a list called "Stupid things that could happen next" and write a bunch of nonsense ideas down. Pterodactyl attack. Everyone starts singing. Someone transforms into a werewolf.
Eventually the ideas become less stupid, and usually I find a solution.

Mine is: stop for the day in the middle of a paragraph, a sentence, even in the middle of a word. It feels SO wrong but it makes it 1000x easier to pick up the thread the next day.

Yup. Impostor syndrome doesn't care about any past success ... it's kind of like that Jack-in-Box pop up that scares the heck out of kids the first 101 times they play with it. Then, it doesn't. You just sort of realize it's going to happen! And carry on. 😄
