When buying farmed salmon, make sure it’s from the Northern Hemisphere, not the Southern Hemisphere, like Chile.

"While in 2024, Norway declared that it had used virtually no antibiotics in its farms, Chilean farms used more than 351 tonnes.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year — over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?

Unusually for me I answered a call from an unknown number. Turned out to be “the leading conservative think tank” to quote my spammer who was calling a lifelong democrat and diehard liberal looking for donations. Requested my number struck from the list and wished him a “happy no kings day.”

Totally agree with @nrlines.bsky.social about @koshersoul.bsky.social He is a national treasure!
First, read this article and consider ordering Michael Twitty's new cookbook.

Second, find yourself a copy of Koshersoul. And while you're at it find a copy of The Cooking Gene. Both books are true gifts and incredibly informative in an accessibly narrative kind of way.

We can't rely on companies to do the right thing. This is why the Supreme Court was so profoundly wrong in Citizens United. Corporations are *not* people. They act only to gain profits, not to promote principles. They will not rescue us.

Donald Trump can't win the 2026 midterms fair and square - so he's trying to cheat by calling up his cronies in red states and asking for seats.

California: YOU have the power to stop him.

Vote YES on Prop 50 to defend fair elections and STOP Trump's election rigging.
