I want to explain a few things and then it might be clearer why UK trans people are upset.
In 2001 I married my wife, Sylvia.
In 2005 I started medical transition. (1/13)

This was such a satisfying read. Runaway Jury is one of my favorite movies and we agreed on the best adaptation. 💁🏻‍♀️

A TV version of The Rainmaker is out this week, which gave critic Linda Holmes as good a reason as any to rank the on-screen adaptations of John Grisham's legal novels.
Some John Grisham adaptations are better than others. We ranked them

If we met on Twitter, you may remember that Katie, my youngest daughter, had a rough couple of years in and out of the mental hospital.
Today she turns 20!! 🥳

Hey, poetry lovers! I have PDF arcs of Unrivered, and if you're interested in reviewing, I would love to send you one. Send me a message if you might be interested... I know reviewing is time-consuming labor, so thank you.

As @dlmayfield.bsky.social and I discuss in this interview, many of the harmful beliefs and practices that we see in the U.S. today when it comes to childcare and parenting have their roots in the white evangelical, religious authoritarian parenting model.

I’ve not been online a whole lot but in the past week I have heard three separate dates for a blackout and my level of exasperation at the lack of solidarity (and organization) is at an all-time high.

I’m trying to figure out the right way to say this, because: Look, the CPB closing is devastating, and I don’t in any way want to blow even a wisp of smoke that it isn’t. But twice today, I’ve seen people express how sad they are that all of public television and radio is over. Not true! (1/3)

On the way to open house yesterday we were doing some math to figure out how long it has been since my oldest started high school and we figured I was 8 months pregnant with my youngest, who is now about to turn ten.
Kiddo number five has his high school open house this afternoon. My baby got so old (and so tall!!) so fast.

I don’t know if there is a name for the depressive drop that hits you after you take your last final of the semester but it is so real and hits hard.

The FTC is seeking public comment about gender affirming care in order to go after providers and restrict access. Share your stories instead of how this care has helped you and how it is life saving.

My youngest just and I watched the KPop Demon Hunter movie on Netflix and he has been blasting the soundtrack as much as possible. Now here I am listening to “Free” on my own time. 😂 But seriously, the ending gave me chills. Plus they understood what makes the “hand flex” scene in P&P work.

"Shit Cassandra Saw That She Didn't Tell the Trojans Because at that Point Fuck Them Anyway"

Title alone does so much work, characterization, setting, tone. Plus, I'm just a sucker for list stories.
An older story but worth a read!

Ugh, trauma responses just do not care about logic or your feelings or anything. The just suffocate you for little while (or whatever) and then (hopefully) pass.
